Well the reason I started this thread is because I’ve made the decision that I want to become one as well.
my undergraduate degree was in psychology, but I’ve decided to embark on a little career change. So I’ve applied to do my Masters in Teaching. Are you studying primary or secondary school teaching?

i mean obviously teachers are extremely important but i think that. the curriculum is more important ? U can have the best teacher in the world n theres still only so much that they can do, theres still a lot of limitations to what they can teach. n i personally think that we are not being taught the right things at all

ive also considered going into teaching many many times, and i am still considering it. but i dont know if i would be able to handle it. i dont know if i could teach things that i dont wanna teach lol and i know i would get way too emotionally invested w the children and then feel helpless because like i said, theres only so much u can do. sooo its a tricky one

I appreciate my teachers so much, but it makes me sad that some people doesn't give a fuck about them even tho without teachers they wouldn't even know how to write or read

@Delusion1111111 I completely understand and respect what you're saying. But disregarding the curriculum, it's little things that teachers do that aren't so obvious which have high influence on the lives of people. Believing in a student when no one else will, causing that student to have self belief, discipling a child to break the undesirable behaviour, teaching children more constructive and positive ways of expressing their negative emotions... to name a few.

I understand completely! But the world needs more educators who go above and beyond!
