May 9th is National Train day! Together as a community we will celebrate this holiday! I'm sure not everyone has heard of it, it's not that known. To explain it shortly, this is the holiday where we all celebrate the making of the train and show much we love them.
In the United States of America (in 1869), they laid down many tracks; so many that it became the Transcontinental rail line. There was major construction on the rail roads, it was a very serious objective in that time period. On May 9th, 1869 the tracks of two different rail road companies at Promontory Summit, Utah. The first continental rail road was 1,776 miles long!
To celebrate this day you could do the things below: -Take a ride in a train.
-Explore train and rail road history.
-Watch a movie that has trains in it.
-And participate in our contests!
