National Doctor’s Day is a holiday to celebrate the doctor’s worldwide who commit themselves to helping others and making sure everyone is in good health. This holiday is more known in the United States because President George W. Bush labelled March 30th as National Doctor’s Day on October 30th, 1990. That is the day where we celebrate the losses and contributions made by our local doctor’s. National Doctor’s Day is overserved every year in the United States, why not celebrate it with the whole world?
Facts about National Doctor’s Day:
-Did you know that the red carnation is the symbolic flower for this holiday? They’re often placed onto the graves of deceased physicians.
-The first Doctor’s Day was celebrated in Winder, Georgia on March 30th, 1933 by Dr. Charles Almond’s wife, Eudora Almond.
“People pay the doctor for his trouble; for his kindness-they still remain in his debt.”
- Seneca, ancient Roman philosopher.
