Unsolved Mysteries (by Hailee )

Hey guys, Hailee here bringing you another dose of weird.

In the past, I’ve shared conspiracy theories and urban legends with you. Today I’m going to be sharing a few of the biggest unsolved mysteries.

There’s just something about an unsolved mystery that gives out an eerie feeling, why was it never solved? Did they not leave enough evidence behind? Is someone capable of pulling something so obscene off without getting caught? It makes you wonder about the things that we, as human beings can do.

I’m going to be sharing the unsolved mysteries of ‘DB Cooper’ and, ‘Tamam Shud’ with you guys today! Let me know if you’ve ever heard any of these, or feel free to share some of your favorite unsolved mysteries with me.
One of my biggest fears is when I die, they won't be able to identify my body. My family won't get the closure that they need, this is what happened to one man who was found on Somerton beach.

When the body was found, he was laying on his back, with his feet crossed. It is believed that he died in his sleep, it was also unclear when he had died.

Witnesses had come forward and stated that they had seen the body lying there around 7 pm the night before, they just assumed that he had been drunk since the mosquitos weren't bothering him. Another couple stated that they had witnessed the man extend his right arm to the fullest, so they didn't bother to get closer to him. Although many people had seen the body, no one was alarmed until the day after. A few years later, another witness came forward and explained that they had seen a man carrying another man to the spot where he was found.

After they had performed an autopsy on the body, it was concluded that this man was in perfect health, they couldn't seem to find anything wrong with him. The man was dressed in well-mannered clothing, but all tags had been ripped off the clothes. His teeth did not match any in the system, and the man had no wallet or ID on him, authorities were stumped about who this man was. The official cause they think was poisoning from the last meal that he ate, but nothing was sure. This was a big break in the case as they thought that the man had initially taken his life.

Early in January of 1949, a brown suitcase was found, all the tags had been ripped off the clothing, just like the man that was found a few weeks before. Only three things were left with tags on; all were with the name 'Keane' on it. It was concluded that Keane was not the man's name, but they were not able to remove the labels without damaging the clothing. Since officials had found a type of thread inside the suitcase, it brought them to look into the clothing. When they tore the clothing apart, they found a tiny piece of paper that had been sewn into one of the pieces of clothing. The paper read 'Tamam Shud' which in translation reads finished or ended in English. On the back of the paper, it was blank, it was concluded that it had been ripped out of a book, and a nationwide search was conducted to find this book. Once they found the book, there had been a number written down in it and an encrypted message, many believe to think that this is a job of espionage.

This case remains open. Over the years, there have been claims as to who the body could be, but none of them turned out plausible for the body. So, this man remains to be unknown. His body was embalmed after the autopsy, but officials made a plaster of his face and neck prior.
How experienced do you have to be to hijack a plane? That’s the question many of us have been asking.

In 1971, a man approached the desk at Portland International Airport and purchased a ticket to Seattle under the name of Dan Cooper. His ticket was one way, on a 30-minute flight which was just enough time to put his plan into place.

DB sat near the back of the plane, and about midway through the trip, he caught the attention of a flight attendant by passing her a note. The flight attendant paid no attention to the note; DB got her attention by mentioning that he had a bomb with him in his briefcase. He demanded that she sit with him, and he showed her the bomb. He made it very clear that he had bad intentions. His demands: 200,000$ in cash, four parachutes, and a fuel truck for his getaway.

The pilot was made aware of the situation and kept the plane in the air as long as he could, while everyone on the ground worked hard to get the outrageous demands for DB together.

The creepiest part about this story, it that no one on the plane was told what was going on. They were just all informed that they would be delayed for ‘minor technical difficulties,' imagine you’re sitting on a plane, and there’s a bomb, but you don’t even know it.

Once the demands were met, DB was notified of the changes and they made their landing at the Airport. Once they arrived, DB made another set of requirements; he wanted to make adjustments to the plane. While the passengers got off safely, DB requested that the crew stay on with him. He was planning on going back up into the air and landing somewhere else where he couldn’t be followed.

DB was very familiar with the plane, and making demands that an inexperienced person would know, so it raised many questions for authorities. When officials asked for a face-to-face meeting with DB on the plane, it was denied, and the aircraft took off once again with DB and some crew members on board.

The next part happened very fast, with air forces following flight 727 close by, DB knew he had something to do. DB told the flight attendant to join everyone else in the cockpit, as she left, she noticed he was tying something around his waist. Shortly after, they saw a significant change in the air pressure, indicating that a door was opened. When they went to investigate, the aft door was opened, but DB and his money was gone. After a thorough search of the plane, and the surrounding areas of where DB should have landed, they realized he was gone. The real question is, where did he go to?

No one ever knew where he went, and to this day DB has never been found. Rumours have been circulated that the FBI knows his real identity, and he was caught and put into prison. But for now, the mystery remains.
