Power Outages (by Private)

Hello everyone, VintageBeauty here!

So recently my neighborhood experienced a power outage. Power outages don't usually occur in my area so living with no power gave me a bit of perspective.

People today rely on power so much, that living without it is not thinkable. Power is considered a constant, and when it suddenly turns off, you're left with just yourself and the things around you.

That's how I was. Everything around me was no longer blinking, and my phone died since I didn't charge it before the power outage. So while I stood there, I thought about the things I could do.
Since I'm normally filled with distractions (ex. laptop, PlayStation, phone, etc.) I don't usually do the things I should be doing or just picking up a hobby.
Here are a couple of things that you could do as well if the power ever turns off for you and or your phone died:

  1. Reading — pick up a book you didn't finish reading or just got too distracted to even read it. Since the internet is down, it's a good time to start reading.

  2. Clean — since the internet can be so distracting, it can make some of us not throw away the trash or pick up the clothes that we were supposed to do. Now is the perfect time to do those things and be productive!

  3. Hobby — do a small hobby that will keep you busy! When times like these come, it's the perfect chance to do that hobby you've been wanting to do.

  4. Organize yourself — re-organize your library, calendar, etc. Not only will this make you productive it will make you feel satisfied!

  5. Go outside — Maybe walk to that park you've been wanting to go to or go out with a friend!

Hope this list will come to use for you all! Have a good day!

Have you ever experienced a power outage? What do you do when it happens to keep yourself from being bored?

I would also like to thank Krystle for this amazing layout!

I live in Tanzania and power outages are very common here since years ago. Now they're  trying to find a  permanent solution to this problem and because of that we now don't have power every weekend so they can work on improving or wtv. Thankfully though since this is so common we have alternative sources to power which means we can charge our laptops and phones

It usually happens at night so we just sit in the dark with a candle on.
