Sleep Deprivation (by Private)

Hello everyone! Vintage here.

I’m here to talk about sleep deprivation! I feel it’s something nearly everyone can relate to. I recently only had 30 minutes of sleep before going to school due to doing a late art assignment haha. So I thought it would be perfect to talk about sleep deprivation especially towards you fellow procrastinators out there.

Before we start though, I would love to thank my layouter Kaysha for this amazing layout ♥

Effects

The effects of sleep deprivation are actually quite vast.

When you're sleep deprived, it affects your cognitive and emotional function which is to say it affects your process of thinking, understanding, and remembering along with affecting your emotional state. One of the more noticeable effects of this happening to your emotional state when you are sleep deprived is either feeling, looking, and seeing happiness. When you are sleep deprived you may not look happy despite being happy, or you won't recognize happiness. Also, disappointment is not tolerated as well if sleep deprived.

Another effect of sleep deprivation is that it causes a phenomenon called microsleeps. What essentially happens, as you can possibly tell from the word, is that it causes a small period of sleep which can last for a span up to 30 seconds. This phenomenon can happen the next day with no sleep. The dangerous part about this is the fact that this phenomenon can happen even with your eyes open! This is especially dangerous for those who drive with a lack of sleep.

Being continuously sleep deprived can also lower your daytime alertness. Even as little as one and half hours of sleep can decrease your alertness level up to 32%. This, again, is very dangerous for those who drive with a lack of sleep.

Hopefully you guys learned a little more about sleep deprivation and its effects. Hopefully you all will sleep more after this haha.

Have you guys been sleep deprived? If so, why? And if not, how do you make sure you don't get lack of sleep?
