Uno (by Private)

UNO is a popular and classic card game invented by Merle Robbin in 1971 and can be played with 2-10 players.
I’m sure many of you have heard of it, seen it, or played it. It’s a simple card game that although it’s easy to learn, it’s the strategies that help you win.

UNO is very similar to Crazy Eights. Many of the wild cards in UNO replace the Crazy Eights .

Here’s some basic information on how to play the game:

  • The direction of the game usually goes clockwise and only reverses if one of the wild cards (reverse) is played.

  • You have to match the card either by action, color, or number. Another alternative is playing a wild card.

EX. There’s a red +2 being played. You can either play the same card or same card with a different color.

  • You can play wild cards at any given time (as long as it’s your turn, of course!). These wild cards often look like this:

  • Depending on the rules that the group (players) agreed on, if someone does not have the card needed to play, the player can either draw one card or multiple until they have the right card needed to play.

  • If at any point in time the draw pile is depleted, you can shuffle the discard pile and continue to play the game.

  • If a player is about to have only one card left, the player must yell UNO. If another player catches the person with the said one card before any card has been played, the player with the said one card will have to draw 2 more cards.

  • The game can either end with the first person winning or until the last 2 people are playing

Online UNO:

Online UNO is virtually the same as UNO being played regularly. However, it can feature different game modes. Meaning, it has different features where it can include gaming modes where the game can be turned up a notch. Such include playing with the number zero(0) and sevan(7).

When played a 0, in this mode, everyone's cards will be passed onto the next player clockwise. When a player plays a 7, the said player can choose whomever they want to switch cards with.

Hopefully you’ve liked this article and thank you to the lovely Kaysha for this amazing layout!
