The Purge - One night a year, all crime is legal. The hospitals won't help you, nor will the police. What would you do?

For one night a year, any and all criminal activity is legal. No one can call the police or go to hospitals for help. The story, which is set in 2022, is centered on a family who are held hostage on this night. I really love the concept but actual story doesn't seem as interesting.

The reason for this night, called The Purge, is to help the economy. I'm assuming it's doing this by killing off the people who aren't contributing members of society. Because the homeless live outside and aren't able to protect themselves, they'll most likely be killed first giving the economy a chance to grow.

I only hope that other crimes besides murder is shown. The trailer and synopsis led me to think that it's focused on murder, which wouldn't be as interesting. Sure, there are some people who wouldn't pass the chance to murder someone without it being held against them, but I'd rather empty the closest store of it's food, cds and clothes. What would you do?
