It's time for another edition of VP news! This week we are going to be talking about the functions of the editorial team - we have some nice functions that regular players don't have, and by reading this you can learn about those functions!
Let's start with how we make and edit our articles. On the sidebar, right below account settings, we have "Editorial Management". The button looks like this -
When we click this button, we are taken to a page that shows all of the previous articles, articles being worked on, and also the option to create a new article. The page looks like this -
In the corner, there is a button called "Add new news item". When we would like to create a new article, we press that button and..voila! This page comes up -
One thing you see is the "In-progress" button. When we want our articles to go out to the public, we click that and change it to "Live". Another thing you see is the "Template" button - all of our articles are without the template. The template has many different features to the article; jokes, VP news - you get the idea!
That's how we can see and create our articles, but there's more! We also have our own club where we can discuss top secret stuff. The club is classified.. but you can still see where we go to get it. It shows under all of the forum topics in the "shielded" category. It looks like this -
Being a member of the editorial team gives you some pretty cool features, right? Well, thanks for reading! Have a great weekend!
Hi everyone! Get your scissors and glue at the ready because its time to create and make a fabulous piece of art. Today I will be doing a spot of quilling. This is where you roll up thin, long pieces of paper or thin card to produce spirals in seconds!
Here is a neat example of what quilling looks like:
I will be showing you how to make a Quilled Letter.
In order to create this work of art you will need:
-Coloured paper
-Glue
-A paintbrush
-Scissors
-Pencil
-A needle
-Card (for background)
-A frame (optional)
-Backing paper (optional)
So firstly, you want to start off by getting your piece of card and drawing an outline of your letter, preferably in pencil since you will be able to rub it out later on. Also, I suggest using a ruler to draw it accurately.
Next, choose your desired colours and start to cut out long strips of paper. With these strips of paper, outline your letter using the letter that you've drawn as a guide.
After that, cut up strips of paper varying them in colour and length but do try keeping them the same width.
Then, wrap your strips of paper paper around a needle. Let go of it and you should have a really nice paper curl or spiral. Carry on doing this with the rest of your strips of paper. Make sure you have a good colour scheme. I think using different tones of the same colour is really effective! When creating these spirals you don't have to entirely roll it up. You can leave some parts so that your style of spirals and curls vary!
After you've got your curls, place them however you like inside your letter. Once you've done that, glue it using PVA glue. Use a paintbrush to apply the glue, and make sure you paste the glue on the bottom of each curl. Press it down onto your card, inside your letter and voila! You have your first curl! Carry on filling in the letter until you feel you've done enough. To make it seem as though the swirls go through the outline of your letter, find two matching sections in your work that you want to link. Cut a strip of paper, the same colour as the two pieces you want to link and then shape it into an arc. Glue it down once your feel the placement is right.
Optional Steps:
If you would like to mount mountan frame it, then follow these steps.
Mount your work on some patterned background paper. Scrapbooking paper is ideal for this! After you've done this, place it in a fab frame so that you can hang it wherever you want in your room!
Ta dah! You now have a cute addition to your bedroom wall! I hoped you enjoyed this edition of DIY and please feel free to show off your works of art. I can't wait!
It's a pretty well known fact that double denim is responsible for 90% of all fashion crimes ever, I mean take a look at these:
But now it seems that double denim is now accepted in the fashion community, and more than that, it's LIKED. *the crowd gasps*
I know, I know, it may sound unbelievable but even celebrities such as Rihanna are wearing the trend.
And after being featured on the catwalk in the past it seems that it's finally taken off!
Is this a trend you're willing to try or will it forever be branded a fashion disaster to you?!
Hello VP earthlings! How are you doing this fine weekend? Welcome to this third edition of Ask Ash. Thanks for sending in your questions and I hope you enjoy!
Q: Hi Ash. I am having issues telling my boyfriend that I have a crush on another guy. I don't want to break up with him because I do love him, what should I do?
A: Well, my love life is nonexistent and I have like no experience with this area of expertise. But, I would tell my boyfriend that I have an innocent crush on this boy and assure him I won't do anything. He will respect your honesty. -Ash
Q: School starts in August and I really do not want to go back. I think I want to be home schooled Should I tell my parents or just go back?
A: Well. I don't know if this late in the Summer you can decide to be home schooled. I think you need to talk it out with your parents because their lives would be affected too. Take a look at the reasons behind your want to be home schooled. Things will look up.
Q: Do you have any tips on studying for tests?
A: I am the type of person who studies for five hours for a test. That truthfully is not beneficial. Because it can tire out your brain. I would say ALWAYS use color and spend an hour on studying and take a break. Breaks are essential!
Q: My best friend is trying to compete with me with our grades, honestly it's annoying me and I do not want to be around her. What should I do?
A: I think you should talk to her and explain your concerns. That's the only way your friendship will get back on track. Honesty is the best policy! :)
Q: I want to go out with my friends during the weekends but my parents don't trust me. What should I do?
A: Have you given them a reason to question your trust? If you have you need to gain their trust back. If not, you need to talk to them and explain what you will be doing and showing them that you CAN be trusted.
Thanks everyone for sending in your questions. I wish that you would send in MORE! Please send them to our team model!
Thanks loves!

As a teenager, one of our biggest problems can be acne. Whether it's preventing it, treating it, or reducing the redness caused by it. In this simple and sweet how to, I will give you a recipe for a face scrub that will exfoliate, help reduce and prevent acne, and is also known to reduce redness.
You will need:
- Cinnamon
- Honey
- Extra virgin olive oil
Take
1 tablespoon of cinnamon into a bowl. To this you will now add
1 teaspoon of honey. Lastly, you will take
1 and a half teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil. The mask shouldn't be too runny, it should be thick enough to spread and keep on your face.
Keep this mask on for 5-10 minutes. When it's time to rinse it off use warm water and
circular motions, this way the cinnamon grains exfoliate and soften your skin.
My personal experience: As far as exfoliating and cleaning my face I think it gets the job done. I am a cocoa brown skin color and I do notice that my face gets a little red around my nose and eyes. I would suggest you stay away from those areas. I really enjoy doing this around the holidays, the aroma of cinnamon and honey are something that gets you in a jolly mood. Enjoy the mask!
