School is finally out! We've been waiting for summer 2014 since September 2013, right? Some of you may have internships, work, or summer courses to attend to, but you need to remember to enjoy summer too! Here are some things you can do to guarantee a fun filled, memorable summer for you and your friends.
Movies under the Stars (Varies – check your local calendar)
Price: $
Movies under the Stars, is basically just as it sounds; an outdoor movie after the sun has set. Some cities, such as NYC and Hoboken, NJ, have organized events with a set time and venue and are generally free. However, if your city does not host any, you can host one with your friends in your very own backyard! It’s like an outdoor slumber party. Don’t let the mosquitos bite though! Popular Locations: Hoboken, NJ | New York City (visit nycgo.com for info) | YOUR backyard!
*** Medieval Times (US & Canada)
Price: $$
For all of you history lovers (like me! ;), Medieval Times is your chance to experience Medieval, 11th century Spain with a jousting tournament and an engaging plot all the while enjoying a four course meal. For the full effect, all the servers and staff are dressed in medieval attire…as for a bonus, the knights are all super cute! The price is $60 for adults, but you can almost always find significant discounts and promotion for all of the locations.
Locations: Atlanta, GA | Baltimore/Washington, D.C.| Buena Park, CA | Chicago, IL | Dallas, TX | Lyndhurst, NJ | Orlando, FL | Myrtle Beach, SC |Toronto, ON
*** Madame Tussauds (US, Europe, Australia, Asia)
Price: $$
Although visiting a museum may not seem like the best summer day trip for some, a wax museum is sure to capture your attention! Strike a pose with your favorite iconic singer, actor, artist, or historical figure. :-) If you don’t have a Madame Tussauds near you, there is likely another wax museum, so do a quick Google search!
