Out With The Old, In With The New (by Private)

so it's coming to the end of the academic year for a lot of us now, and for some already, such as those in america and us in the UK who have finished college, it's time for summer, and a big clear out of your bedroom, too! I know I speak for a lot of people when I say I keep a hold of every single sheet I get from every single lesson over the year, which ends up being a hell of a lot of paper which goes to waste. this is just a little guide on how to keep on top of that, and sorting through them, making yourself ready for the next year ahead!

sort them into the subjects - this way, it means that if there's any subjects you're dropping in the next year, you know immediately that you can get rid of this work an recycle the paper. recycling is important of course, a lot of houses now have their own recycling wheelie bin, or a colour ordered bag, depending on where you are, and it really doesn't take much effort at all!

if you can, check with your teacher about what work you will absolutely still need for the next year. it could be crucial that one single piece of paper could mean understanding something and being completely lost on a subject. especially if you're going through an exam stage, like GCSE's or A levels, all work seems important.

get rid of any clutter. any paper you know you don't need, any little silly sheets, anything unnecessary, get rid of it. there's no point in keeping something you aren't going to use, it will just be clogging up important room for the things you will be learning next year, check over it a couple of times, note down important points if needed, and then recycle these sheets!

finally, when left with all the important sheets which will be sorted into the different subjects, organise them into a folder, this way you will be ready for the next academic year. you'll be ahead of most people, and feel fresh and ready to start!

though it may seem boring, it gives you good organising skills, and also a way to spend some time in the summer, and it will help you read over your notes which can also be helpful. hope this helps a little!

I made the mistake of that last year, and in my second year of sixth form I needed a lot of them!
