Everyone loves cake, but what happens when you want to make a cake, but you're out of eggs and butter? You just don't make the cake. No, you make a cake without the eggs and butter.
This is a 'chocolate oil cake' or a 'mud cake' or just a 'chocolate cake for when you have no eggs and butter.'
Ingredients:
400 grams of white sugar. 475 millilitres of water.
375 grams of all-purpose flour. 235 millilitres of vegetable oil.
9 grams of baking soda. 30 millilitres of distilled white vinegar.
3 grams of salt. 5 millilitres of vanilla extract.
45 grams of unsweetened cocoa powder.
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Mix the sugar, flour, baking soda, salt and cocoa in a mixing bowl.
Add the water, vegetable oil, vinegar and vanilla and whisk by hand until the mixture is smooth.
Pour the mixture into a cake tin. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean with no batter on it.
