Disney: Behind the Gates (by Hardlykaty )

As a Disney fanatic, Disney never fails to fascinate me. The Disney Parks have countless secrets and details that you may not realize or see if you're not looking for them. There are hundreds of facts about the parks but the list below clues you in on only a few hidden treasures, other than hidden Mickeys, and secrets you may not have known before.

Watch your feet! While waiting in line for "The Haunted Mansion" ride at Disneyworld, take a gaze down at the concrete and you might just spot a wedding ring embedded into the ground. The ring belongs to the hanging bride you see once being ushered into the stretching room and when the lightning strikes above you.

The Cat Chases the Mouse? Almost 200 feral cats wander around Disneyland. If you happen to spot one, don't be alarmed! The cats have made their home there and are kept around to keep away the mice and rats. Even cats like Disney.. How could anyone not?

No Chewing, Please. Gum isn't sold at any of the stores, restaurants, or kiosks in Disneyland. This helps keeps Disney's pavements nice, clean, and free from those dark circles that collect dirt. Yuck!

Hide Woody!
The Toy Story characters used to quickly drop to the ground if a guest yelled "Andy's coming!" but because of the growing popularity of this joke/trick, they stopped reacting to it because it was happening too often. The cast member that escorts them around may instead joke about Andy leaving college.

Free-Throws.
There's a basketball court hidden inside an "attic" area of the Matterhorn. Although this is a concept that some people seem to debate, some saying that it never existed or that it's been removed, there's pictures floating around the internet and a drawing of the Matterhorn that depicts it. Play ball, cast members!

Princess for a Night.
There's only one hotel room inside Cinderella's Castle in Disneyland and it is unable to be booked. The room is only for contest winners and is located above Pirates of the Caribbean.

Second Floor, Please!
The Magic Kingdom is actually the second floor. What is that suppose to mean? Under The Magic Kingdom lies a network of connecting secret tunnels that allow cast members, face, and furry characters to pass though different 'worlds' of Disney and be able to hang out outside of costume without being scene by the guests to keep the magic alive! The tunnels are actually built at ground level with the park on top of them because engineers weren't able to dig down, being that Florida is at sea level.

Abandon Ship!
Disneyworld has an abandoned water park that closed in 2001, named Disney's River Country, due to water contamination. The waters were found to be infected with amoeba which resulted in a deadly disease which caused the death of four people. Yikes..

Try Not To Spill.
Straws and cup lids are nonexistent in Animal Kingdom. Disney doesn't want us pesky humans throwing plastic to the animals and doesn't want the animals getting their paws on the plastic. They do this to protect the animals from eating it or getting stuck. Yay for looking out for the animals!

I've worked there in 2013. I know a lot of the secrets that happen in the parks and backstage.

To be honest, the toy story characters wouldn't drop. The photo was staged and a rare event. Safety begins with me.

The basketball court in disneyland in the Matterhorn, last I knew, still exist.
