5 natural phenomena on earth (by Account deleted)

I don't know about you, but I'm already tired of this rainy season. Hahaha, I know, it got to me pretty fast. And what do you think I do when I get bored? Search weird stuff on the internet. We all know about the rain, sun, snow and night phenomenon by now. But there are still a number of natural formations that are yet to be discovered and those that have recently been explained. Here below I have listed some of my favorite rare phenomena, to see more just check out my sources. And I know that many of you just came here for the pictures, let be real, so I tried to find the best ones.

Enjoy!
1. Fire rainbows

We need to make it clear from the beginning. It has nothing to do with fire. Now, this is a circumhorizontal arc. This occurs only when the hexagonal ice crystals in cirrus clouds are facing parallel to the ground while shaped like thick plates. Also, the sun most be situated more than 58° above the horizon. For it to happen the light from the sun most go through them. Thereafter bending, like it would have done when passing through a prism. If the crystals are aligned in the right way it should result in a beautiful spectrum of colors.

2. Frost flowers

Never thought this could happen? Well, you're wrong. And I'm not speaking about the normal frost you can find on the widow, but rather a more rare event. Frost flowers are also referred to as ice castles, frosted flakes, ice blossoms, or crystallofolia. Those are built when the sap in the stem of a plant expands, so that long, thin cracks will be able to form along the length of it. Via capillary action the water is drawn out and then freezes. It's all because of a freezing weather condition when the ground isn't already frozen, sounds weird I know. But when more water is drawn out it pushes the layers, causing petals to form.

3. Bioluminescent waves

Those incredibly beautiful waves are caused by a marine microbe called phytoplankton. Various species of them are known to bioluminesce, most commonly being dinoflagellates. This type of phytoplankton has a special channel in the cell membrane that responds to electrical signals, causing the light to form.

4. Light Pillars

Both artificial and natural light can create it. The facets of flat ice crystals, that appear relatively close to the ground, makes the light reflect. When the light source is close to the ground, the pillars appear above the crystals. In other cases, when the light comes from the sun or moon, the pillars can also appear beneath them as the light reflects through.

5. Morning Glory clouds

Those appear in a band of clouds across the sky, usually in the morning when the atmosphere is stable. They are likely to form when the humidity is high so that it creates moisture for the phenomenon to occur. Being similar to the waves on a water surface Morning Glories are often produced in the same direction. The clouds are a result of the mesoscale circulations made by the sea breeze that can be found over the gulf and the peninsula. We often associate them with frontal systems crossing Australia and high pressure in the northern part of it.
