RollerCoaster Tycoon (by Ariellenicolle )

*Background changes by refreshing page*

Just a bit of background before we get further into the article:

The original RollerCoaster Tycoon will be discused, which was originally released for Microsoft Windows on computers in 1999. Specifics of the games such as how to play will not be included, just simply fun aspects of the game that make it memorable.

One of the best aspects of RollerCoaster Tycoon is the ability to make the park your own in various ways. The player has control of whether to hike up the price entrance fees and attractions to gain more money or make everything free. Players can also choose to decorate their park in any fashion; either simply with colorful flower beds and a few benches, or by placing items in the park to follow a specific theme.

Similarly, types of rides, information centers, and dining stands may be placed around the park at the players dismay. RollerCoaster Tycoon is creative-oriented in that a player can design their park to look as they imagine and consist of prices they prefer.

One of the most fun aspects of RollerCoaster is the ability to construct various different rollercoasters to the players liking. Players are able to design rollercoasters piece by piece, having full control of construction as long as the coaster remains within the park boundaries and budget. Addition of features such as loop-de-loops, speed boosts, and photo-taking areas are available.

The problem with designing an awesome roller coaster is that the guests may find it so scary that they will refuse to ride it. Of course another problem could be that the carts may veer off course, causing crashes and ultimately death of any guests involved. But this shouldn't happen if game physics are in mind when building coasters.
Torturing and or killing guests are aspects of the game that, although seem suspicious and creepy, actually provide entertainment. Guests that become angry, openly complain, or trash the park must beware. As previously mentioned, guests can be killed by player-made rides in which carts holding guests come off the tracks or collide with another ride/attraction.

In addition, it appears that none of the guests have learned to swim. Placing guests in water, or placing water at ride exits for guests to fall into, will eventually cause guests to drown. For players who cannot stand to kill pixels, popping guests' balloons or simply placing guests on an isolated island will suffice. Guests have no reaction to their balloons being popped, yet isolated guests will become angry or tired.

I fricken love RCT. I have RCT3 for my laptop, now, and I am honestly a bit disappointed that the guests can't die. But ehh, it's still fun nonetheless. (:
