Flower Meanings (by Private)

Since summer is coming about and the flowers have been blooming wonderfully, I thought it would be nice to talk about these beautiful creations!

We’ll be talking about a couple of different meanings from some flowers. Keep in mind that some flowers can have multiple meanings and can vary.

I also want to thank Baileyyrosee for this amazing layout!
Carnations are popular for their various colors. Carnations are also referred to as their scientific name, Dianthus. The greek word “dios” refers to the god Zeus, and “anthos” which means flower. There are several different types of carnations with different meanings.

Here are a few:

- Carnations (in general) : Fascination, woman’s love

-
Purple Carnations: Capriciousness

- Striped Carnations: Regret, refusal

Calla Lilies are also referred to as arum lily, trumpet lily, Pig lily, or Miniature Calla Lily. However, despite their name, they are not true lilies.

Here are some meanings :

- Calla Lilies (in general) : Signify magnificence and beauty

- Bright yellow & orange: Represent joy, growth, and change

- Lavender & light blue: Convey a sense of grace and refined beauty to the receiver
Some facts about chrysanthemums are that they are used in flavored tea as a relaxant. They were also originally grown in the Eurasion regions. Chrysanthemum comes from Greek word 'Chrys' meaning golden, and 'anthemon', meaning flower.

Chrysanthemums can mean:

- Chrysanthemum (in general) : fidelity, optimism, joy and long life

- Yellow Chrysanthemum: neglected love or sorrow

- White chrysanthemum: truth and loyal love
Gardenias are native to the tropical and subtropical regions of Africa, southern Asia, Australasia, and Oceania. They are difficult to grow elsewhere because they demand high humidity in order to thrive and they require bright light but not directly. However, there are some types of gardenias that can be grown as houseplants.

Gardenias can symbolize the following:

- Purity

- Sweetness

- Indication of secret love

- Joy
I pulled out a few different flower types but there are many more that I haven't listed!

Which flower (s) do you like? Either one's listed in the article or others.

Do you like flowers? Why or why not?
