Evolution of Video Games
by Kinggkylie

In 1889, Fusajiro Yamauchi created Nintendo CO. In Japan, but it didn’t sell video games yet as the world never knew what were video games. It was one of the most famous games in those days. The famous “Nintendo Playing
cards” which were the closest thing to Video Games in those days.

In 1952, the first computer game was created by A.S. Douglas at the University of Cambridge. It was the first documented computer game. The “tic-tac-toe” game that was on a computer at the university.

Moving on from the 60’s to the 7o’s. In 1971, NolanBushnell and Ted Dabney Created A game called “Computer space” which was the first commercially sold video game. Later they also created “Atari”. Computer space was about shooting flying saucers while avoiding enemy fire. Sounds kind of lame? But in those days it was the first of its type.

Moving on to 1972 where the Magnavox releases Odyssey, the first video game console that can be plugged into a television it included 12 games. The most famous one was called “Ping Pong”. It was known as the father
of games. It passed by letting the 80’s fly right into the evolution. In 1980 Pac-Man chomped its way into arcades and Home-Consoles. Japanese Company called “Namco” won 1 Billion dollars after Pac-man was released with only 15 months as people still play it till now-a-days. In 1991 Nintendo released the 16-bit super NES which contained famous games like “Mario” and “The legend of Zelda and donkey” which was also known as “SNES”

The beginning of the 2000’s was like a barrier in this evolution. Sony Created the play station 2 . It had better graphics than a computer. It had the famous GTA (Gran Theft Auto) and it became a massive hit.

Microsoft decided to fire back. In 2001 Microsoft FirstReleased the Xbox which was presented by Bill Gates. It had a pc technology and an 8GB hard drive which allows you to play loads of games. The technology and the evolution have no limits. The only thing that can stop it is the end of the world.
