Short Story |
I'm writing a short story for Teardrop's news blog!! ------------------------------------------------------ DING! The bell rang. It was June 10th, the last day of fifth grade. My two best friends, Kat D and Star S, rushed out of the school with me. You would think I'd be sad, since Star wasn't going to the same middle school as I, but I was actually really happy! That was because, over the next month, Kat, Star, and i were ALL going to an overnight camp together! I couldn't wait! As we walked toward our car (Kat's mom was taking us to her house, where we had dropped off our stuff that morning), Sarah Miches ran up to us. "I signed up for that camp!" She shouted, obviously excited. Kat and i looked at each other, trying not to sigh or groan. None of us were that close friends with Sarah, and we knew that she'd try to hang out with us ALL month, especially Star. Luckily, Star was a great actress, and Sarah didn't catch on how upset we were. We all got into Kat's car. "Are you excited?" Mrs. D asked. "Yeah!" We all exclaimed. ~~~ I was bouncing up and down in my seat, trying not to squeal with excitement when we pulled up at camp. "You have everything you need?" Mrs. D asked us as we got out. "Yes." Star and I said in unison. "Yeah. Bye, Mom." Kat added. I could tell she wanted to leave and get to the camp as soon as possible, and I agreed. "Alright, alright." Mrs. D said, getting the hint. "You girls have fun." She leaned down to kiss Kat goodbye, but Kat dodged it and just gave her a small hug. I laughed. "Bye, girls." Mrs. D said to Star and I, getting back in the car. "Come on!" Kat practically screamed. We ran for a little bit, but afterwards, since none of us were athletes, we were exhausted and started walking. "i can't wait to go swimming." I told them, adjusting my back pack so it didn't fall. "Me neither." Star said. "I also can't wait for horse back riding." "Me neither!" Kat and I shouted. We all squealed in excitement. "What's up?" Said a familiar voice from behind us. I turned around, just to see Sarah running to catch up to us, her dirty blond hair swinging into her eyes. "Hi Sarah." We all said. |
