BA: Far Cry 5 |
“Something is coming. You can feel it, can’t you? That we are creeping toward the edge… and there will be a reckoning. That is why we started The Project. Because we know what happens next. They will come. They will try to take from us. Take our guns, take our freedom. Take our faith. We will not let them. We will not let their greed, or their immorality, or their depravity hurt us anymore! There will be no more suffering!” Hope county, Montana... Such a beautiful place, truly. The nature and the animals. Sadly it is ruled by a Cult. The charismatic preacher Joseph Seed and his cult, Project at Eden’s gate, rules the area. They are ruining the residents minds, ruining the beautiful forest surrounding the area... I got myself a copy of this game. What game you ask? Well Far Cry 5 of course. This far, I have had a really positive experience and loved the game play. So, a little info on the game to get you started! It is set in a fictional place called Hope county, Montana and is ruled by a preacher called Joseph Seed. Joseph Seed claims he has been chosen by god to protect the residents of Montana and established a “cult” named Project at Eden’s gate to save them from a “collapse”. Joseph Seed, who deemed himself the Father, rules together with the aid of The Solider(Jacob Seed), the Baptist(John Seed) and the Siren(Faith Seed). Each one of his aids has a different role. The first one is the solider, Jacob. Jacob is Joseph’s older brother and is in charge of the training of the cult’s armed forces. Jacob is a former US army sniper. The second one, the Baptist, John, is Joseph’s younger brother and has acquired most of the land in hope county, for Eden’s gate. John is a former Lawyer. The last one is Faith, the Siren, the little sister. Faith’s main task is to make people trust Joseph and make then join the Cult. Project of Eden’s Gate is a militaristic doomsday cult and uses violence to force the residents to convert to their cult. They use intimidation to make sure the residents doesn’t contact the outside world. You, the player, play as a nameless deputy rookie. Usually referred to as “the Deputy” in the game. The rookie is a part of the task force that is sent to arrest Joseph Seed in Hope county. It is your job in the game to liberate and save Hope county. My own experience with the game has been very good, the game play is smooth and straight forward for most part. Of course I love exploring and the environment is perfect for an explorer like me. I love that it is open world, and that it offers fast travel. Of course I do get side tracked easily and love doing side missions, and the game is full of amazing missions and interesting characters. One thing that is a slight bother is that when it’s time to kill some cult members, or peggies as they’re referred to in the game, it’s usually the same faces over and over. As if you’re killing the same person multiple times. It can bother me a bit, but most of the time I don’t notice it unless I’m sniping and killing by headshots. Another thing is the creating of your deputy. I like that you can choose between female and male character, but I feel like the customization is very limited and light. You start out with very little choices, but you unlock more as you progress. But the game is in first person view so you see very little of your own character. It will be show only to the person you’re playing with if you’re playing co-op. The whole game is played in first person, even the cutscenes are played in first person which I honestly think is a major plus when the game is played in this particular view mode. Another thing about you character is that your character is basically a mute and doesn’t say anything throughout the game. Some mission can be hard without help, but as you progress you meet more characters and can hire them to help you out when taking out cultists and liberating areas! Even if you play with someone else, you can hire people to help you out in the game. This is called Guns for hire, and you can hire people for different types of game strategies. By default you can only hire one person at the time, but if getting the perk “leader ship” you can have up to e guns hired. They all have different abilities. You also have the choice to have the dog (Boomer), the mountain lion (Peaches), or the bear (Cheeseburger) follow you around and help you kill the cultists. Much as the human guns for hire, they all have different abilities. Such as Peaches being stealthy and Cheeseburger taking all the attention off of the player and ripping the Cultists to pieces. Overall, I really like the game a lot. Being an explorer I love the open world map and that there is a lot to discover. I discover something new each time I play. I hope you liked this little review of mine. “God will not let you take me” |
