 ReportI turned my bread into a beautiful cinnamon bun

Cinnamon buns are yummy. Cinnamon buns also take a heckish long time to make. However... Cinnamon buns can actually be made real easy and quick, apparently, if you cheat a little bit.

This is the beautiful story of how I took a slice of bread and turned it into a beautiful cinnamon "bun" (and it was actually just as good). It is a slightly more hardcore version of toasting a bread slice, putting on butter and fluffing cinnamon and sweetener on it.

The only things needed:

* Bread

* Cinnamon

* Butter

* Sweetener

* Some egg (idk if the egg was really needed but uh, I had some left from previous use so I took advantage)

* Whatever you want on top


The only things needed to do:


1. Ok start by putting on the oven. I've no idea what temperature, but I went with 350 fahrenheit (about 180 celsius).

2. Now pretty much all you need to do is to create the filling by taking some butter (let it melt a bit first so it'll be easier to mix with), cinnamon and sweetener, and blend it into a fluffy, beautiful spread. Adjust the amount after how much you want to make.

3. When you've done that, put it on a slice of bread (common, plain, fluffy, white bread), like you would peanut butter or something. Now you've got a nice cinnamon bun sandwich.

4. Put this 'ish on a baking sheet ok. Then paint it with a thin, nice egg layer (you know, just some normal whisked egg, not like, cooked egg or something..). Idk if this is even necessary but I suppose that it protects the bread from becoming too dry and makes it a little shinier or something like that. If you want you could sprinkle some pearl sugar on top, or chopped almonds or hazelnuts or whatever you like.

5. Finally just pop it in the oven. I know not for how long but long enough to give it a slight crisp or so. I had it in for about 12 minutes and it turned out kinda lightly toasted. When it's done it's just to sniff and admire.


The result

I thought it was highly nice. I would totes make it again, and I would definitely recommend, and I would rather do this and cheat with an already made bread slice than spend hours making my own. When you're feeling for a snack this is a great one. It is simple, relatively quick and very delicious 👌

Was it worth it? Yes, yes it was. It was ridiculously easy to make anyway, so if I accidentally dropped it in a pile of horse poop I would shed no tear over it. Compared to real cinnamon buns I feel that this came incredibly close. I'd say no difference at all, other than the form, but I suppose that it all depends on what kind of bun and how much of a taster you are. Also the type of bread will make a huge impact, I suppose. I feel that the bread I used was very fitting for the task (taste-wise), so it worked well for me.


VOILA THE RESULT (yes these are some bigass pictures but hey it makes it look even better tbh, and yes that's a lot of spread (not horse poop I promise), and yes I had already eaten of it before taking the pics)
