Shamrock Smoothies |
Shamrock Smoothies Background: After once trying a shamrock shake at McDonald's, I decided to make one of my own - they are just so delicious! This is a great drink for two (or more!).
Prep time: 5 minutes
Total time: 5 minutes
Servings: 2 (or more depending on size of glass)
What you will need:
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 green spearmint candy leaves
- 2 thin round chocolate mints
- 1 ripe banana, peeled and cut
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 2 or 3 drops green food coloring
- 2 sheets of wax paper
- Blender Directions: - Place banana, ice cubes, apple juice, yogurt, sugar, yogurt, peppermint extract and food coloring in blender.
- Blend the items together until smooth and frothy.
- Place small sheet of waxed paper on a work surface.
- Sprinkle the sheet with sugar.
- Place the spearmint leaves on waxed paper, and top with second sheet of waxed paper.
- Roll out leaves to 1/4 inch thick.
- Press 1 shamrock onto each mint.
- Garnish the glass with the shamrock mints.
