Hummingbirds |
Fun fact. Did you know hummingbirds have to take constant breaks from flying? Unlike most birds a hummingbird does not have to keep moving forward to fly. A hummingbird actually hovers instead! This is so that they can stay in one place long enough to drink nectar from flowers. But how do they hover when other birds can't?! Their wings don't go up and down! Their wings move in a figure 8 motion! ISN'T THAT COOL?!?! Image From: The sonoran Desert: A Literary Field Guide |
