TPC second round - winter |
Let's face it - winter is probably the most boring of the seasons because there is not much to do since snow and cold blocks your way. You can't go swimming with your friends in the winter because you will become an ice cube, you can't go for your morning walk because it's too cold..so what can you do while you avoid freezing into a popsicle? One thing you can do is bake! There's nothing better than sitting on the couch wrapped up in a cozy blanket eating homemade chocolate chip cookies, is there? Baking isn't very hard to do and there are billions of recipes to make delicious snacks! It'll take up some time and you'll get to enjoy your delicious snack at the end. You'll probably feel productive too, which for most of us may be a good change from the normal lazy days watching Netflix. For a good website to find yummy recipes, click here. If you actually are willing to take a step outside, get some friends and find a good hill to go sledding on! Sledding is really fun and if you're wearing enough layers you won't be super cold. You can go backwards, or spin around, or maybe even make a jump that you can fly off of and then fail and laugh at yourself. Sledding is a good way to enjoy the outdoors. Another thing to do if you don't mind the cold is ice skating. Ice skating rinks may not be as cold as outside, plus there's no snow you have to bother with, and they're super fun. If you've never skated before, it's always good to try and you'll eventually get the hang of it. Most rinks play music while you skate so you can jam out, and this is a perfect thing to do with your friends. If you're someone who really cannot stand waiting the whole winter without swimming, look for indoor pools/water parks near you. You could also sneak into a hotel's pool if you're feeling like a rebel. Indoors pools may not be as fun, but at least you won't have to go so long without swimming. You can also make winter playlists or just other themed playlists using Spotify or 8tracks. It's good to have some tunes you can listen to while looking outside at the snow. If you don't feel like making a playlist of your own and want to discover some new music, you can find other people's playlists or have a friend recommend you some songs that might get you a little bit happier about the winter. Crafting is something else really fun to do that doesn't require you freezing outside. There are endless crafts you can find on Pinterest and you could even just make things that get you more into the winter spirit. This is also a really cheap way to make gifts for your friends since winter is holiday season. Hopefully now the winter will be less boring and dreaded for you. All of these aren't very expensive and can take up a good amount of time. Have a fun winter! |
