Aw I loved ain't it fun! the music video was incredible. I admit the main reason I ever got into the band was because of Haylely to begin with. She's adorable and has infectious energy. Ugh she's so so so so cute. I adore her. I was hooked the minute I saw the Misery Business video.

They are very pop-rocky though and always have been. I don't think a harder, edgier sound would work for them.
I liked the video but I think it's one of my least favorite paramore songs tbh.
I think the energy hayley brings to the band has a lot to do with their success also but maybe that's just me they're an amazing live band, all of them.
but just the hearing the first few seconds of misery business when i was 10 i was like this is it this is my life now lmao i just thought it sounded so cool. and people can say whatever they want about the meaning of misery business but it will forever be one of my favorite paramore songs i just love the entire feel that it has

yea but u know paramore type heavier lol but i think the direction they're going now is completely pop music but that's fine too
but i will always wish they would make another song like the brand new eyes intro for that tour they had
They opened for the No Doubt show and I wasn't even legally allowed to drive at the time; this was before Brand New Eyes was released. I can't remember why but my mom made some sort of mistake so we missed their opening act. I was extremely bummed and sad. Still am.

Actually I was thinking the other day how 2000's Paramore is really just the scene kid version of Taylor Swift. Think about it; Brick by Boring Brick has that same "I wish life was a fairy tale rather than the disappointment it truly is" vibe early Swift songs had, and Misery Business is almost exactly the same as You Belong With Me lyrically. The first three albums will always hold a special place in my heart but they just don't resonate with me like they did when I was 15.

Honestly I just love their new direction. I think it suits them well since they were always one of more optimistic and cheerful pop-punk bands of their time. I am glad Zac is back too because while I do love their self-entitled (even ain't it fun; I'm sorry it's just so energetic and great) I really liked his manic drumming and thought it brought a lot to their songs. Have you listened to his project HalfNoise? I haven't, so after I get over listening to Weezer's Pinkerton I'm checking it out. Any recs if so?
lol somewhat i guess
but i feel like misery business was more better than revenge by taylor swift
other than that i don't see much similarities taylor swift's songs are mostly about love and boys tbh
i can still relate to brand new eyes just as much as i could when i was 12 it's weird lol

i think self-titled is my least favorite album. i love it but not as much as the others. i think the whole thing with jeremy also adds to it and all that drama. but i'm living for this last album i'm just sad this era is over.
yes i have and on the tours i went to during this album cycle they played one halfnoise song every time it was cool!
My favorite halfnoise song is french class but i also like scooby's in the back and as u wave

yes i feel like every album was a new thing but i feel like a lot of bands that did rock music eventually went for a more poppier sound anyway tbh at least those i listened to but i would still love to hear them also make something less poppier anyway, if i remember it correctly with this last album they didn't give it much promotion etc because they wanted it to be fully about the music and that's something i love about them but i believe whatever they do if they do something in the future it's going to be great either way they've never really disappointed me before (except for ain't it fun maybe lol)

The problem with Paramore's older work is that it hinged on the emo-pop/pop-punk style and image that was popular in the 2000's (mid-late especially.) I loved it back in the day, but after revisiting it did not age well. Most of the bands from that era have either broken up or changed their sound entirely. They have evolved. I'm honestly surprised they're still together and they really are growing as a band; I agree.

Yeah I agree; they were barely even in high school! Honestly Brand New Eyes is probably my favorite because they went beyond the optimistic christian pop-rock they were selling and touched on darker elements. I also really enjoy After Laughter because 80's synth-pop and new-wave is a guilty pleasure of mine. I also like how they have grown with their audience rather than strictly pander to teens. It is refreshing. I personally preferred All We Know is Falling to Riot! though; unpopular opinion. Riot! was great but kind of gimmicky; AWKWF was just teens singing authentic lyrics about teen experiences. It's so earnest and genuine.
