Idk if its just an American thing but grocery stores play canned music, it's basically a selection of songs played on rotation, some songs they play more than others it seems, like they play 3 hootie songs but at least I dont hear them every dayĀ 

I hear 3 certain country pop songs and brandĀ  new lover by dead or aliveĀ  once or twice a day @ work tho it's annoyingĀ

i wish i could do the same, like at this point, when i hear a song on the playlist, i know which song are next. so you could imagine what my brain is like, when i hear songs from that playlist outside of work.Ā 

i only have opening shift in the weekend, as that's the part of the position u get being there part time (lol me being there part time, when i sometimes work 7 days in a row, but it's so little hours, that it's still considered part time), but in the morning i have an hour where i thank god can put headphones in, cause i'm making everything alone ready to open the store.Ā

well i once heard harry styles in the supermarket, so maybe? but also just in general i feel like it's an v american thing to play music in supermarket. well at least they dont do it much here in danmark, but sometime they do.
but i guess it's also bc u have to buy license for the music, which are probably the reason for small playlist/same three songs at store and restaurantsĀ

The selection of songs they play at work are limited to cut costs. it gets old but at least its on shuffle and not in the same order, that'd drive me nutsĀ

yes drake is to be found on ours too, but cool with 80s synth/new wave, i love that.
also i can actually put the music on shuffle at my workplace, idk why i never do that actually ....Ā 

im there part time, in denmark part time is under 37 hours pr week (idk if that a universal thing or a danish thing), my shifts are 5-5,5 hour longs depending on how fast we are at closing down the store. Im only given 3 shift pr week, but i apply for many more, so it's rlly different how much i work, especially now with corona, there's not much to do in denmark rn, so i will work like 5-6 time in a week.Ā 

and ahhhh i understand, in the restaurant i'll be alone for 1 hour from 4-5, and then a cashier will come at 5. that one hour is like horrible bc i dont want to deal with stupid customers. The rest of my shift i work in the kitchen, only making the food.Ā
