It sucks as because like writing chick*n on the package is more confusing than writing vegetarian chicken nuggets or whatever
pretty sure they just write veggie nugets and dont even use the word chicken

at least in german th e talk is all about the word wurst (sausage, cold cuts), which kind of just describes ... the shape??
I think here the biggest thing would be meatballs which is like…. A vegetarian meat ball is distinctly different to me than a falafel type veggie ball
like köttbullar?

As someone who accidentally bought vegan chorizo because because I thought "soy chorizo" was just the brands name in spanish
I am personally in favor of clear labeling on food products lol

Overall I think it's good to have clear and descriptive labels, especially if you live somewhere where multiple languages are spoken to prevent like, weird translation misunderstandings

but then isnt it a better idea to just mandate brands that they have to have a big green V on the packaging

idek what ud change chorizo to

i think its gonna keep a lot of non-vegetarians/vegans from even considering to try vegetarian alternatives if its called vegan disk or smth instead of burger

ugh i dislike it bc its gonna make it less accessible for meat eaters and for me way more confusing what product is mesnt to be what

I think it is so stupid because for all of these products they clearly say ''plant based, vegan or vegetarian'' in front of it anyways. There are also so many non-vegan products that have way more misleading names but somehow that's not an issue at all

the memes abt it have been so funny like they better ban computer mouse (not made from mice) and cleaning sponge (not actual sponge)  and so on

i think it's a stupid decision . just make a big logo or something that symbolizes a product being safe for vegetarians or vegans, i don't know
to me its like if we decided that gluten-free products must change their names because you don't want to confuse people into buying gluten-free options

isnt there already the green V in a yellow circle?
like maybe the y could say it has to be bigger or that vegan/vegtarian products need their own section in the store as to not be confused.  that would have been way better imo

i believe there is, at least in spain we do have one, but it's a bit small so maybe they should resize it to make it bigger ... still there are usually specific sections in the supermarkets i go to where you will only find vegan products or gluten-free, or even ones used in diets etc. i dont understand why people are not able to just either read, or perhaps ask a worker if its not vegan
