then today I get customer, man, asking me to help find gifts for 4 kids all different ages n he can’t provide me with ANY info on what they like other than that the seven year old is «an autist» and therefore he needs to get «something autists like» n that something also needs to withstand being thrown on the ground cause he throws things on the ground. Okay.
I go through the list of kids n show him SEVERAL things for all the different age groups. He likes NOTHING I show him. For a 6 WEEK old baby he continues to ask me like «isn’t this cool wouldn’t this be good» on stuff that’s 6 months and up, or even older, and I go well uhm I wouldn’t recommend that for a 6 week old baby. I show him all the stuff we have for 0months n he likes none of it but lands on a rattle/teether. Then I move on to baby aged 1 year. I can’t even finish sentence where I’m gonna point to something n say «well for starters we have this» before he just goes «okay I’ll take this, next» …….
We move on to 3yo boy. I list TONS of things ppl buy for their 3 year olds. He says no to all of it. I show him HUGE wall of cars. He likes ONE of them so we go with that. Then he suddenly doesn’t like the thing he picked out for the 1year old anymore so he wants a doll instead. I say okay n show him dolls. He doesn’t like any of them. All of them are too expensive cause «it’s the daughter of my nephew so I don’t want to spend a lot». I say well that’s what we have. He picks the smallest one. But not even five seconds later he stops n says he doesn’t really like any of the stuff picked out. I just go like «oh. Well okay»
then the gift for this autistic 7 year old is left. At this point I am SICK n tired of this man plus I have no idea what to recommend him so I take him to the direction of the till so o can hand him over to another employee 😭😭😭 while doing that we walk past a wall w lots of stitch merch n he goes «OOOoo!! Maybe something like this!» but like ?? They aren’t unbreakable toys??? So I tell him «idk how well this would handle being thrown on the ground so I mayb wouldn’t go with that» WHERE UPON HE SAYS TO ME…!!! «maybe you’re not good at your job.. perhaps you don’t know that much?? Maybe I should ask someone else» AND I PUT ALL HIS SHIT DOWN THAT I WAS CARRYING FOR HIM N I GO « YOU KNOW WHAT? YEAH, DO THAT. I THINK YOU SHOULD DO THAT 🙂» pllleeeassssseeeee
