women tend to be more impartial and attracted to individuality (think: the concept of men being ugly-cute) men, not so much. The closer u are to conventional beauty the better they will treat you.

You have to fight more than people who fit the norm and deal with shit like insults and unprompted comments on your appearance. That is a fact and I won't deny that. It's normal that those things have a negative impact on you and people who say 'just ignore it' don't have the experience to know what they are talking about. But punishing yourself and doing things that are bad for your physical and mental health trying to fit into some norm won't make you happy either. The most important thing to remember is that the men insulting others aren't worth shit. Just think about it, would a person who is happy with their life insult others based on their apperance? And why does it matter what some guy who probably jerks it twice a day to some anime girl think about your looks? You probably have preferences as well but don't tell those unprompted. You don't because you're a better person than those pathetic trolls.

How to fight this stuff depends a lot on the specific situation. Online you could start by making your profile private and only adding people you trust. In real life it can't always be avoided but like others said, don't hang out with people who make you feel bad about yourself, they aren't worth it.
