I didn't complain about swifties. I complained about seeing TS all over the place with the addition that her fans hate her album and regular people are the ones posting about that. adding to what i'm seeing in unlikely places and from unlikely people thus, seeing an excess of TS content.

I mean you brought up the sexism when it wasn't part of my conversation or upsets at all. boiling it down to hearing "pop music from women and loved by women" and it feels there is some assumptions to where my discontent is stemming from as opposed to...just what i wrote.

I understand that you are reworking your own prior takes and opinions but I have done that work ages and ages ago and am able to just dislike her and her practices

I feel like ur not rly getting what I’m saying either like I don’t like her or her music etc, I hate celebs in general,. Your first post just came across as very complaining for the sake of it and that made me think of that. I don’t mean to boil it down to anything like I generally agree to an extent but with caveats n I think it is something worth bringing up because in the current social climate we’re going back to being more accepting of being hateful for the sake of it again.

yes i don't think most artists are super creative nor super unique in their songwriting, but im tired of seeing how they treat her as if she were the greatest songwriter alive. she does have good songs, but mostly because they're catchy, not necessarily because she writes some deep, meaningful music. i wouldnt dare saying who does that currently, but she is def not an example. and yeah certain fans will buy her or other artists music regardless if they actually like what they have been given, just because they love that artist

her current net worth is around 1.600 million dollars . i believe no one who's rich, especially if they're rich as her or more, will ever see their money as just enough to not want more and more

I think part of why people defend her as like some sort of super artist is in part because of all the hate she has gotten over the years like the reaction has caused fans to become more passionate about her tbh

i agree, theres a lot of people who think that when someone they like is being criticized, instead of getting to their own conclusions by reading and searching why they're being criticized, they just take it as "lol they hate them because they're rich/talented/whatever" and decide to stick even more for them. especially in the case of taylor, who i agree has had to deal with a lot of misogynistic hatred, ive seen the way she's been infantilized and protected as some kind of vulnerable girl who's just trying to live her life, ignoring the fact that this white rich woman has always used her identity as a -white- woman to forbid any kind of criticism towards the things she has, and hasn't, done, or such

i again agree that other artists, especially cisgender men, are not held to the same standards taylor has been overall held to by many though, which is why i also mention that my opinion on her is pretty much similar to most other artists. i guess im a bit more harsh on her and artists with her kind of fame because they have such a big platform and they don't use it for the good of others.
on another note, of course whatever someone feels about their music is just subjective, but still i don't think she specifically should even be considered the biggest songwriter if we're going to judge songwriting for their meaningfullness or their creativity

Yeah like this is pretty much my opinion on her.
i just feel like regardless of it’s a rich celeb problem the topic mostly ends up being centered around her or female celebs in general which is just like a sign of society’s at large and yadda yadda. Which includes me bringing it up in regards to her yes tbh. But basically when a topic like this comes up especially in regards to her, regardless of op’s thoughts n opinions, it always feels a bit ah, this again, can we not

No, I understand. What i don't quite understand is if i say i am tired of hearing so much about Taylor Swift specifically, how does that translate to here we go again more hate for the female celebrity? 2 things can be true at once, Taylor has been hated in a misogynistic way that has been invalid AND There are valid reasons to not like her, but did that need to be outright stated to be understood?

Also it feels like you want me to have provided more context that you find valid as opposed to having some "useless" opinion.

I agree we ARE getting more hateful as a society but that is the state of the world in general and is often reflected through how receptive people are of celebrities.

I do find you to be neutral whenever i see you and i don't think you have ill intent but, if you read your first few comments here, especially as i haven't interacted with you much, if at all. There is some snarky tone that I perceived in the those first handful of comments and if you didn't mean them in a snarky way, the structure still read as snarky unfortunately.

If you look it up, it's the same arguments every single time. "She can't write, she's too freaky, the album cover sucks, the music sucks because it's not my taste, the music sucks but I've never listened to her"
It's exhausting to keep up with, which is why she doesn't care anymore. It's been happening since she released Speak Now.

I do believe it will die down! i also just know she is very prevalent. There are little life of a showgirl artifacts in games, discord, obviously social media but places i wouldn't expect. I was listening to a radio station that plays 200's hits. but they played a song from LOASG?? which ofc is not early 2000's pop lol. it's just feels she's in places i wouldn't expect her to be

Well there was defo so snark in my first post in part because I am just sorta snarky by default which is part of my problem with just sounding hostile but also because you did come across as sorta rude about it / sarcastic when you got another opinion too, which I know you have said you didn’t intend but I wasn’t the only one who thought you came across that way so I guess it comes down to tone misinterpretation in the first place

but yes two things can be true and both things don’t have to be stated but It’s also not wrong to state it or examine the language we use like being I’m tired of Taylor blabla I hate when celeb does this instead ya know. Genuinely not in a policing language you have to do it this way or you adulthood horrible sexist, but it’s something I think I would aim to do atp personally which you don’t have to agree with ig, but regardless of my snark I do think it’s a way of framing it worth examining n discussing when it comes up
