As someone else mentioned, I'd go with a cocktail dress

If dresses aren't your thing, you can still dress up in your own style 
It's about how you project/feeling comfortable 
There are cute pantsuits or a flowy pant with a fitted top
Certain fabrics/accessories will elevate your look too
I wish I could shop with you lol

ugh yeah i'm not a dress girlie..
i've been opening up to dresses a lil bit. worn it a few times these past two years.
but i want to feel comfortable and confident in what i'm wearing for this event. so i don't think a dress is appropriate rn. it would kill my vibe

tho it would be a challange. we got about 5 generic clothing stores in this lil rural town
so you're better off helping me shop online. unless u could find me a whole look from like HM

and yeah i feel like i could pull off my own style. sorta. i don't necessarily need to look loud and eye catching or wear bold colors and patterns.
i could do corporate goth. just a black chic moment with jewelry that is just a tad bit statement

yeaa that's always the problem 😔 i got super lucky and managed to find well fitting good quality slacks -90% with the last pair being exactly in my size
