I just got back from the store and the hotel entrance was blocked by an ambulance, police vehicle and people walking in with hazmat suits/gowns on. That was nice to come back to o.o

Side note; people at these hotels where you can live at are odd. They are very social and will approach you and walk with you to a store and have a conversation with you like they know you and it’s nice but at the same time I don’t know how to talk with people I don’t know so I just end up listening to them and replying to what they say. Also one guy when I first got here when I was walking to the store kept insisting angrily to go over to his car, another guy stopped me three times asked if I wanted to smoke weed with him, kept talking to me after I said that I had to go back to my room, and he knocked on my hotel door, a different day, and asked to use my phone and before that asked if I wanted to get pizza with him, and then another person he walked with me to the store twice and bought me a Red Bull, and then today on my way back from a different store a group of people in a car asked if I wanted to go with them to the hotel next to mine...cities freak me out.

What kind of place/neighborhood do you live in and/or do you do well in cities?

In Florida, I live in a condo that has a view of the bay and I’m close to the beaches. My neighbors are young professionals, no problems as of yet.

I’m currently at my family home in ATL..quiet gated community but some of the neighbors here are a little snobby.

Missing Tampa, sharing a pic of my neighborhood

i live in a really old house in louisiana, (pre-civil war) its not my house but the rent is only like 200 and its quiet and pretty much just fields/woods around us, and my landlord is next door to me and doesn’t pester us and he lets me play w his dogs and his baby pet cow, overall 8/10 but my house is haunted so i do have weird experiences sometimes

What’s the history of the house, who’s supposedly haunting it?

I'm always facinated when i see cities in the us, being such a small country here, skyscrapers, big condos and such isn't something u really see. I think i would thrive somewhere like that in terms of size and how lively it would be. But i also wouldn't want it to be in the us tho personally.

unfortunately its a plantation house, its all old cedar wood
i like living in it bc the rent is cheap and its a pretty house but i also feel guilty living in it because of the history but i also can't afford to live anywhere else in my city/town so :/ my landlord lived in the house i'm currently in and he said the ghosts were nice and in the span of 10-15 years he seen a lady ghost two or three times. i'm not sure who is haunting it though in all honesty, i just have weird experiences but i've never seen the ghosts with my own eyes

i've spoken out loud to the ghosts and let them know that i wasn't there to hurt them or cause any harm to the house since my first weird experience and so far they haven't really bothered me much

You’ve never owned slaves, nothing to feel guilty about imo
despite the history, I bet the architecture is nice!
At least your ghosts are content with you living there...I think it would bother me at night tho

LA has so many haunted places that I’d love to visit
but only in the daytime lol

i just feel guilty because if slaves truly lived in this house more than 150 years ago when it first built, i imagine me moving in and imposing on where they reside is shitty for the ghosts here honestly, cause who truly knows what they may have been through in this house when they were alive you know?

however the outside of the house is kinda ugly cause the weather hit the wood outside very hard (as you may know, LA is very humid and gets lots of rain, and the hurricanes over the last 150 years have most likely slammed tf out this poor house) but the inside is pretty much all cedar wood with high ceilings and bronze fans, we have armoires in every bedroom in the house (the one in mine is really old, it has a skeleton key) and theres no traditional locks, only hooks and latches. scary enough we have had people think our house is abandoned and try to take pictures while we arent home (or in one situation when i was home) which is really disrespectful but yk

the ghosts do coexist with us, they dont really bother my sister and i much tbh, the house does have a weird vibe to it as my friends have told me but i always tell them that if you dont seem afraid the ghosts will not bother you, its when you overthink and get anxious that youll hear noises

and ive never visited any honestly (except living in one) but where i used to live with my grandparents there was a really old plantation mansion that always held tours and shit like 20 min away from us lmao
