Vita Nostra - first 100 pages sorta meh but the rest is worth it by far. So unique and the slavic vibes are the absolute best. also the magic system builds on linguistics, sorta. also if you read it and you wonder ' what the hell happened' in the end, u r not alone but it is inbetween the lines - or a google search away

A Deadly Education - soo enjoyable! Not necessarily the most fast-paced story but it's always intriguing and a big reason is the narrative, worldbuilding, just the constant everyday magic elements and academia that also makes me love Vita Nostra so much.

Parachutes by Kelly Yang - I'm not really a contemporary fan but this book was probably my favorite read of 2020. It needs some tws but it's a really well written book so it's a great read just in general, but it also addresses important themes so tw for this one

Skyward by Brandon Sanderson - the first book, omg, it was so good. it's a scifi but it reads like a fantasy, and i say this as a person that do not like scifi space books a lot. But Sanderson is such a good author. His worldbuilding is just oouf some of the best. I loved following Spenca becoming a pilot, regardless of everyone working against her due to her father's legacy.

An Enchantment of Ravens - aah this book is so soft and that's absolutely what I love about it. The imagery is breathtaking, especially if you love autumns.

The Light Between Worlds - I don't know why this book isn't on the top of this list but it's assembled randomly so u know. But OML this book is the most bittersweet story I have ever read and it's wonderful and it's way too relatable and I just love it to pieces. Also, wayy to overlooked book.  tw for this one too

The Song of Achilles - you don't think you will cry but you will.

Wintersong and Shadowsong - okay the FOLKLORE, the dark underwood vibes. okay absolutely amazing. i love this book so much. likely, due to it's despair but it also relates to music and poetry in so many ways, it's enthralling. it's inspired by the goblin market poem, among others, and set to 1800 Bavaria, I think.

Uprooted - when you're done, you will know you just witnessed the birth of a story that could be a fairytale in its own right

my favourite ever is probably the perks of being a wallflower. idk why it's just very good and i've reread it many times and it's just. i don't know dhfgjkd

also really really like the raven cycle by maggie stiefvater which is a series and my favourite out of those books is blue lily lily blue. i just love her writing and like. the story and the characters and just the Feeling of it.

call me by your name - very beautiful in a sense that the author captured my interest with how he painted the scenery (explained in details) i created my own little place in a sunny italian place and ig i just fell in love with the book, the story, the characters, the scenery
(and i hadn't even watched the movie before reading it)

circe - i'm still not finished with the book, but wow i just got drawn into the character and how she feels, thinks, it's like i was her ? idk how to explain but the author did an amazing job writing this book.

no longer human by osamu dazai - this book just describes depression. i don't know what else to say.

south of the border west of the sun by haruki muraki - it's not typical murakami i guess. but i just love this book. i love the emptiness what is left when you read it. it tells a story about meeting a long lost childhood friend/love and meeting again, but never getting her and just setting in for a life you have.

the little prince by antoine de saint-exupéry - do i even need to explain? this book has a special place in my heart tho, because it was also my late stepdad's favorite and it was kinda just our thing.

ronia the robber's daughter by astrid lindgren - my childhood favorite.
