Friedrich Nietzsche - The Gay Science
Fistly, I really like the format of this book.
I like the way you can pick up at any page and just read it.
His philosophy, ethics, etc really resonates with me as well.
Mary Wollstonecraft - A Vindication of the Rights of Woman
As a feminist, of course, I had to read it.
A summary is that she writes about how women are as intelligent as men and therefore deserve the same rights as men and to be as respected as men.

Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind - The characters are very realistic and have common sense. The plot is solid in my opinion.

The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls by Emilie Autumn - A very pretty book visually. Very dark story and setting but it's a decent read.

Ella teatterissa by Timo Parvela - A children's book. Pretty short but very funny. A childhood favourite.

Looking for Alaska

simply because i love all of the characters and how many different emotions you go through while reading, one minute you're laughing and the next you're crying. I also love how much the main character progresses, he goes from being a very shy person with no friends, to actually having friends and speaking his mind.

Vita Nostra - first 100 pages sorta meh but the rest is worth it by far. So unique and the slavic vibes are the absolute best. also the magic system builds on linguistics, sorta. also if you read it and you wonder ' what the hell happened' in the end, u r not alone but it is inbetween the lines - or a google search away

A Deadly Education - soo enjoyable! Not necessarily the most fast-paced story but it's always intriguing and a big reason is the narrative, worldbuilding, just the constant everyday magic elements and academia that also makes me love Vita Nostra so much.

Parachutes by Kelly Yang - I'm not really a contemporary fan but this book was probably my favorite read of 2020. It needs some tws but it's a really well written book so it's a great read just in general, but it also addresses important themes so tw for this one

Skyward by Brandon Sanderson - the first book, omg, it was so good. it's a scifi but it reads like a fantasy, and i say this as a person that do not like scifi space books a lot. But Sanderson is such a good author. His worldbuilding is just oouf some of the best. I loved following Spenca becoming a pilot, regardless of everyone working against her due to her father's legacy.

An Enchantment of Ravens - aah this book is so soft and that's absolutely what I love about it. The imagery is breathtaking, especially if you love autumns.

The Light Between Worlds - I don't know why this book isn't on the top of this list but it's assembled randomly so u know. But OML this book is the most bittersweet story I have ever read and it's wonderful and it's way too relatable and I just love it to pieces. Also, wayy to overlooked book.  tw for this one too

The Song of Achilles - you don't think you will cry but you will.

Wintersong and Shadowsong - okay the FOLKLORE, the dark underwood vibes. okay absolutely amazing. i love this book so much. likely, due to it's despair but it also relates to music and poetry in so many ways, it's enthralling. it's inspired by the goblin market poem, among others, and set to 1800 Bavaria, I think.

Uprooted - when you're done, you will know you just witnessed the birth of a story that could be a fairytale in its own right
