i think you have to be baptized first to get married in a church (in the catholic rule at least (? idk if other denominations also need that), and you need a certain "Permission" if your partner is not baptized in order for you both to get married. if ur coworkers bf is baptized then they can get married in the church, but if he's not religious i dont really get why you would want a church marriage since its FULLY religious. you can get married in a castle and have similar aesthetics, although it might be more expensive
