Candied yams? I've never heard of that! Is it similar to browned potatoes, or is it completely different?

Damn, ribs is that popular? I've never heard of that before!

Here, it's pretty much a glorified Sunday Dinner (Turkey, Gravy, Potatoes, Carrots, Sausages/Pigs in Blankets, Yorkshire Puddings, Stuffing etc.). We're also adding Beef, mainly cause it's a personal favourite of mine!

I'm also mainly excited for the chocolates!! Quality Streets and Milk Trays are the best and nobody can change my mind !

More like a dessert and people sometimes top them with marshmallow.

Pigs in blankets is such a weird name for a dish. XD

Ooh, I used to love Quality Street back when I still ate chocolate.

Very true. I personally hate it as I hate bacon but still, it's cute xP

They're so good!!! I don't even necessarily like all of the chocolates in there but the ones I do? Makes up for it completely! I'm sorry you don't eat chocolate anymore : (

I've never actually tried it before. I feel like it's a British thing, but I might be wrong.

Haha, there's nothing to feel sorry about. It wasn't really a conscious decision I made, I just stopped eating it at one point, and haven't missed it since (I guess I could add that I don't eat candy or ice cream anymore either). Do you have any favourite Quality Streets?

It definitely is (at least as far as I know too xP). Sausages wrapped in bacon :3

Aw, I wish I could do that with a lot of things - I'm waaay too snacky for my own good hehe! I'm glad it's not for a bad reason or anything :3
My favourites are all the toffee and fudge ones!! Specifically the pink one - Vanilla Fudge!!
I LOVE IT!! <3

Yeah, I checked Wikipedia, and apparently the version with bacon is British, while there are other versions which are more like a hotdog in a bun.

Haha, it's definitely okay to treat yourself to snacks, so there's nothing to feel bad about there. Ah, I think the toffee finger was my favourite.

Also, can I just add that I was really surprised to see you here, since it's been ages since I last did? I didn't know you were still active on VP, but I'm glad to see you again!

Hmm how odd! I've never heard of the second one, seems like just a hotdog xP!

Treat yourself is one thing but I live off of them xP! Toffee Finger is my second favourite - it. so. gooood!!

Hello! It has been ages :3 I've popped on and off but never really stayed for long but I've been around more the last couple of days : ) I'm home for Christmas and struggling with uni work and my boyfriend lives 3 hours away so when I'm struggling, it's nice to come back to VP sometimes still :3
I'm glad to see you again too, I'm glad you're doing well !! <3

im a typical polish person potato-cheese pierogi (im also a very picky eater so this is the only meal besides cakes and cookies)

but lots of people in Poland eat red borscht, carp, kutia. Meat is forbidden so no dishes with meat.
We celebrate Christmas Eve bigger than the other days of Christmas.

Yeah, idk, I guess I'd just call them sausage rolls? But sausages wrapped in bacon seems so excessive somehow, like, it's pork wrapped in pork??

Ah, I see. I feel you with the uni part. I hope you'll be able to get a break from course work during Christmas! And if you don't mind me asking, what are you studying?

traditional foods here in Latvia are
Grey peas with bacon, fried pigs head and rosols (there's no translation for it?) i'm p sure there are more.

Sometimes rosols and that's it rly. I don't really eat when we celebrate a holiday.
