There is now a netflix series based on the story called "dirty john," if u wanna find the real story, the case is known under det same name.

It's not like i regret watching it, it was really in depth. 
But it was very graphic and u saw things u might not wish to see. I have seen a lot of true crime, but i have never seen one that almost/basically shows the murders. The video of him killing kittens as well as the one video where he murdered an actual human, was shown in the series.

I'm pretty sure it was someone upper class tbh. It's the best explanation for why they never "found out" who did it. A rich guy murdering poor low-class women? Sounds likely

Well there is several suspects that are upper class, one is a prince thought. 
The other one they found a book under a floor board that was a diary signed jack the ripper. The only problem with that one thought is that they lived far away and the guy who found the diary later said it weren't really, but later took that back and said he didn't want to publicity because of his failing marriage.. so like i don't reaaally believe in that.

There is another guy thought. He was a fisherman and was in love with and even lived with the last victim. The theory is that he was so madly in love with her and didn't like her prostituting herself, so in order to scare her from the streets he started killing other women. At the same time he worked hard earning money for both of them, until eventually he lost his job. After that she went back to prostituting herself and it led to several fights between them. Around 10 days after the last fight, the women was killed in her sleep and no other people from there on was ever killed. Besides that he fits the description and was even nicknamed "jack" by his friends.

Idk but damn it sounds likely
