What I usually do is that i first read through the blog text I get and try to form an image from that, color scheme, potential images I can add etc. If you realllly can't come up with a color scheme just use those color palette generators or color pick from the images you've chosen. After that just make sure the text aligns and is easy to read and that's pretty much 85% of the work done :3
