as other stated, you could've also came yourself and seen and checked, messaged
considering the state of vp and the activity was close to 0 from any team, including the owner and admin, I do not see how you expected any followups or messages

I just wanna make a quick note to say that I’m rly happy about Etjen making an effort to find someone active and as a user of the site I think having everyone who is interested apply to show that they are interested is very good, regardless of their past experience as mods or admins here or on other sites!

clearly there was some miscommunication goin on between Jess and Etjen, which sucks!! But at the end of the day imo, anyone who is not currently an active admin who wants to be should send in an application— I’m sure past experience will be put into consideration alongside activity etcetc!

I empathize with your health struggles, however the site still needs to have another active admin.
There are several great candidates for the position that are all very active, and also passionate about seeing the site thrive and grow. I don't really see any downsides to employ a new admin.

considering we very much beyond giving people second chances it would be better to see a new face that is already active and will be a gust of wind to the activity here

When on leave, it's usually your responsibility to check in
So people are aware of what's going on, by not doing so
It implies that you have no interest in returning and one
Can't expect their position to be held for them.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do and whomever
gets the position, I hope it's someone who's fair
And able to put personal bias aside...this applies
to teams as well.
