Yeah, join the comps without the prizes! Not everything needs a reward<3
trying to find time to enter with everything else i've been occupied with.
Before I was on the team(and off it again) I made schedules for myself to ensure I entered all the comps. xD
didnt care if i won or not.

period! i will be doing it more @MasileinDE  defo inspired me with her blog, imma read more blogs n articles n shit to show my interest because there's talented ass ppl on this lil website

I feel so called out right now, because truth is: while I read most of the content here (always read the whole news magazine, love the blogger team posts and even scroll weekly through the new blogs list and skip through to find "articles", I rarely comment. because more often than not, I would either go on the freaking wildest tangent there is in the world (and I can't ask from a teamer to read and reply to my essay on what that article/blog/whatever did to me) or I would just be able to be like "yay, finally something new (corona has me bored, I need new stuff every two minutes) and I really love how this looks" because I always get the feel that that just ends up seeming sooooo shallow and like I didn't give a shit about anything just wanted to seem nice and that kinda defeats me as a teamer too

(also, I freaking love that people read my long ass rant and react to it in this way, way to go peeps, I love it! ♥)
As a member of two writing teams, I would absolutely love to hear your wild tangent thought! And what you describe as 'shallow' comments are very much appreciated too!

you just brought doom over the comment sections, but hey, if you love it, I'm all for giving it to you :d
I'll try to comment on truly everything I read from now on - even if it's just a kinda shallow comment about the layout (but hey, layouters need love too) or if it's a more wild comment about the subject

ok i just had to speak on this now that i can and everything, i did the ET bootcamp and i just wanna say one thing i got out of it is to show kindness wherever possible to your mf team members

if something seems messed up or odd, assume it's not purposeful because 99.9% of the time it's not. when u think ur getting ignored or that a team member doesn't care, you're wrong because in reality they're waiting responses in discord trying to arrange and fix everything as fast as possible

because the tea is bitches are humans! when ppl put in work to do an event, write a blog, write a forum idgaf what it is, you should ACT accordingly because these are volunteers trying to create fun on the website and from my own personal experience (and what i've caught off a few others) it's so incredibly hurtful to put effort into something and have it effectively shat on, kinda makes you think why are you bothering?

dont gaslight shit, gossip you know??? like go for a walk instead of causing hurt to someone online

at this point i dont really know what im saying specifically but the general gist stays the same, be kind to the team members of EVERY team who run this site because without them, what rlly is there? n if u can do anything like run an extra mile to not only join comp but to read a blog, an article, what a yt video or participate in a forum then do it because it rlly boosts morale for that person in the team whos literally on doing it for fun

anyways, this is a lot n i know 99% of y'all dont wanna read that much (neither would i) but yeah take issues up in the DMs please!!!!! and be nice bcuz its very motivating <3333
bless your heart and soul.
Still glad I quit tho.
but I always like to be nice to team members, its usually not their fault.

like when a customer comes into my store complaining that our implant grade body jewelry is too costly.
yes it is the highest quality, and I am a receptionist so I don't make the prices, clearly.
but I get rude looks and yelled at for telling them what the good stuff costs LOL.
I once got yelled at for something the company I was working for wasn't even responsible...
6 or 7 years ago, they split the company in two for bureaucratic reasons (one of them is para-state and the other completely private, so it was easier for everything to split it into two separate companies) so I was working for company A in a very specific department (it's a one person department and they usually let students work it over the summer because it's the easiest job ever) and that guy seriously starts with yelling at me on the phone that he is glad he finally got through because our hotline service was so shit (it's mostly shit because people keep blocking the lines with questions and rants about things we are not responsible for). So I did what I could think of and tried to appologise and ask what his problem was, so maybe I had the answer to his question or I could find my supervisor and get the answer for him in under a minute. And then he goes on a rant about company b and how they were "mean" to him. (it's where they check your car if it's up to code and you're allowed to drive it. his was not, the brakes weren't fully functioning, I looked that up even though I shouldn't have but I was curious, and he got mad because he needs the car to go to work but didn't want to pay for new brakes as the old one still worked most of the time, not realising how dangerous this is) then I had to talk him off a ledge because he thought that screaming at me and calling me very colourful things would get him his approval back??? (has that ever worked, pal?) and in the end I had to get my supervisor so he could tell the guy off and transfer him to the other company, because I was at my wit's end

so yes, customers more often than not are dicks and there's nothing you can do about it
but the main issue I have with this: when working with customers, it's a job
here on VP, it's our free time, leisure. and getting your head ripped off because someone thought they were more deserving of a price or a better set or an article about something they care about and not something irrelevant to them, then you're just sitting there and have nowhere to go. like, on your job, you at least get your pay out of people being dicks to you. all you get on VP is the chance to pull the plug on your computer - and in all honesty, for many of us, we don't have much else going around in our life. sure, might be our fault to net have more outlets, but still ...
Also, great way for people to learn that life can be a bitch when confronted with real life scenarios on the internet (both teamers and the people screeching out their hatred)
[this mostly being a general comment, not really directed at you, but more of a reaction and specification from my point of view]

i honestly admire every single team member so much. i've been there myself and the amount of work you have to put into things is enormous, and kindness of others is the only motivator for you, seeing as no one gets paid for all their hard work.
just wanna say thank you all very much for keeping this website a fun and safe place <3 we appreciate you very much
