i wonder if its a bit about control like needing a new logo to say 'this site is my site i made this logo'

Me too, but we have to think at this: the most who wanted to send a Logo don't make it professional just as hobby / fun
They want to help improve VP. Because nothing happen to VP since y-e-a-r-s. And Etjen say'd that this not will be the final logo, just the idea how it can look like.

And finally, a new Owner try his best. We should be happy. If you don't like the way he does, don't join.
Nobody forces you to join.

For myself, I think its a very... chaotic? Contest but nice that something happen. Haters gonna hate, its just sad that everybody is so mean bean idk

I don't like the current design that much. it feels outdated. i hope that the new design will be more modern and clearer and maybe also attract and keep more users. I know some players (on the German server) who found everything too confusing and therefore left VP, unfortunately. but this has not only to do with the logo, but with the overall design of VP.
