Chapter four - More training, food and death...

Alice fired another arrow. It was quite late now, she ran a tender hand through her blonde hair that was loose.
"It's getting lat-"
"No, Hatter, I will not stop." she said, firing another.
"Oh..." he said. Watching her, he was right, she was the most strong willed girl he had ever met.
Hatter got up and walked over to the table that Alice had fallen onto and pressed another button, some steaming hot beef stew popped up.
"Alice, come and eat." he told her, she groaned, placing the bow and arrow down and walking over to him.
Cheshire, Peter and the doormouse named Gordon had all gone home, leaving Alice to practice and Hatter just to make sure she didn't get lost or hurt herself.
Hatter set the stew out and dished up the stew into two lovely bowls made out of wood. He handed one to Alice and she started eating it, she hadn't eaten this well in ages. Needless to say, she finished it quickly.
"When is the prince's party thing?" Alice asked, wiping her mouth with a napkin.
"In three days." Hatter replied, finishing off his stew.
"What will I wear?" she asked, he shrugged.
"We'll find something, we need him to notice you." he said, taking his hat off just to run a hand through his hair.
"It won't be too, y'know, revealing, will it?" she asked him.
"Oh no, apparently everyone wears revealing outfits, we need you to stand out." he said, Alice nodded.
"Can I have something lacey? I've not worn lace in ages." she asked.
"Of course, whatever you want, Alice." he said, giving her a lop sided grin, she smiled back.
Then there was a scream. Not a small scream, a proper scream, filled with terror.
"Gordon!" Hatter said, jumping up.
"Gordon?" Alice asked.
"The doormouse." he told her as he grabbed a gun from under the table. Alice grabbed a few knives and then Hatter grabbed her hand and pulled her through the amazing forest. Alice hadn't had a chance to look around, it was almost scary, the trees were whispering things, terrifying things.
Hatter and Alice stopped outside a small cave, it was big enough for them to walk into but there was only one room. They walked inside, their weapons in front of them to protect them from whatever could happen. there was a small candle, lighting the room a little bit, Alice picked it up to see around the room, then she let out a little scream.
"What is it?" Hatter asked, following her, they both glanced down at the floor where a human body lay, still, not breathing, blood covering it.
"It's Gordon..." Hatter said sadly.
"But... he was a mouse..." Alice stated.
"Yes, this is his human body, he was killed, his mouse form and human form..." he told her. Then something caught Alice's eye.
'You can't beat us.' was written on the floor in Gordon's blood...
