That's not what I mean lol, I like to listen to music where I can understand the lyrics and sing along, so if I don't speak the language I usually don't bother with the song
oh damn i really don't care what language the music is i think music is like universal

I agree but when I can't sing along it really bothers me, it's really important to me that the lyrics are in a language that I can speak lol
oww ok well u do u

she is overrated. she has a lot of talent, but she is overrated. this doesn't mean i dislike her, i just feel like there's so many other artists that deserves to be bigger than her. but i love her whole female empowerment thingy, but her music is kinda bland.
Ugh I cant stand her pop feminist bs. It's been criticized and rightfully so. I hate how shes lauded as an empowering figure for woman when what she does feels so shallow. Her pseudo feminism is too close to The Spices Girls (whom I've always hated) for comfort. I feel the same with Taylor Swift, tho I'd argue her fluffy version of feminism is even worse than Beyonce's. Nothing is empowering about Taylor's cliquey, bourgeois girl squad.

I agree w/ those who said Beyonce's music is bland. I always thought she was just aping The Ronettes and The Supremes/Diana Ross. She doesnt hold a candle to queen Diana. For all her talent she does nothing new with it,  so I think shes overrated (though I'll agree w/ Yeezy that she was more deserving of a Grammy than Tswizzle lmfao). The over-production is fucking overkill too imo.

Now Solange on the other hand is underrated. A Seat at the Table is excellent and she deserves to be just as- if not more- loved than her sister. I find her music and persona far more empowering than anything Beyonce has ever said or done. It feels more sincere tbh.

anyways... music industry is so toxic, it profits off of people creating parasocial relationships with their idols and reduces music artists to sheer commodities 3
Couldn't you say this about work in general? I find the nature of work so exploitative... I honestly hate working but it beats sitting on my ass I guess

I fully agree, but if you compare Beyonce's fans to literally any other fandom/fanbase, they're a bit extreme in their reactions
Im hurt u downplay kpop fanbase this much

I'm kind of ignoring kpop because I don't speak Korean so idk what's going on with them, are they toxic?
The fandoms are nowadays toxic yes, they didn't use to be (at least not as much as today) before the global exposure.

well i can't really say for every artist that they're not overrated haha, but in general, i think the term overrated gets thrown around a lot and it's annoying;
Lots of stuff is overrated, but beoyonce is boring so no wonder ppl think she is
yuppp she kinda is
