âShh, keep quit. Donât call for mom or dad.â I told my brother. He looked at me, horrified. I saw that he tried to stand up. âStay still, itâll hear you if you moveâ I whispered to him, too scared to say it louder as I pointed my
fingers to the kitchen. I could hear the vague sounds of someone breathing. Saying
âIâm coming for you, this is not your place anymoreâ under its breath.
My brother darted his eyes to the kitchen and then he slowly turned his head back at me with a confused look on his face. My brother tried to stand up once again from his bed, this time standing up before I could protest. Holding on to his sheets to use it as protection, then he slowly started to back away from me, making as
much space as he could between us.
But as he moved, he backed towards the kitchen which made me all confused and scared. I stared at him, terrified for what was to come, for whatever was in the kitchen to take my brother from me. I moved my hands, tried to gesture and send signal to him to make him understand and move away from the kitchen.
I whisperedâGet back here, itâs in the kitchen. Canât you hear it breathe?âI saw him shake his head just as the thing in the kitchen took a step forwards, making itself visible. Its glowing blue eyes stared at me. I froze, scared, fearful for my life. The thing growled, the sound piercing through my ears. I screamed at my brother âGet over here, right now. That things is going to kill youâ. My brother didnât move.
This time he spoke up. âSis, what are you talking about? What thing?â Was he serious, could he not see the beast behind him.
âSis, youâre really freaking me out. I donât understand why you have your eyes closed, howdo you even see me. How could you see me move towards the kitchen when youâve had your eyes closed this whole time?â
Just as my brother finished his sentence the thing growled once again, but this I could make out words in the growling.
âOnly you can see me, and I said earlier- this is not your place anymore.â
I screamed.
