After their discovery, the landwalkers have declared war to claim even the lowest built paradise (as the Aqualings like to call their homes build inside of giant Air-droplets). As the landwalkers had the superior technology and ability to both move in water and on land, they felt confident in their advantage. 
Little did they know that there are three warriors who the Aqualings call the element-crossing-triplets. Being the closest relatives to the human race, they remain with the landwalkers strong muscles and bones, enabling them to walk on land; but at the same time, having the ability to grow deadly parasitic shrooms out of their body and transfering them via touch. Those shrooms eat the flesh off the human skin and connect to their vein system; stealing their blood but at the same time keeping them alive for as long as possible for an upholding symbiosis , making the death slow and painful. 
As 85% of the landwalkers have been rotten (as they call the slow death), only one of the three warrior remains, nowhere to be found.
100 years of peace and rebuilding of cities flew by, leaving us with the myth of Mipha. The last warrior who shall rot the last remaining civilisation of landwalkers if they ever declare war once again.
