Elements of nature are usually boiled down to the base four (fire, water, air, earth) but if you combine them you can get other elements (for example: earth + fire = lava, earth + water = plant life). You could even argue Metal, Electricity, Life, Death, Light, and Darkness are elements. I went with Aether, the 'fifth' element from medieval and early history.  It's supposed to be a divine essence of sorts that connects all life- but the rise of scientific understanding has kinda wiped it out as a concept in modern time. Still, I think it's neat!
