ET: Photo comp - chaos! (closed)
Laboratory
Minister of Pop

Hello there, rebels and outlaws!
I've been inspired by the rocking mid-1970s to bring this event forward. Punk was loud and bold in all forms of expression: fashion, ideologies, visual art, literature, dance and more. We all know of it it from the loud, aggressive genre called punk rock. At the very core, punk is non-conformity. It is chaotic, it is lawless - and in these chaotic days, why not revel in it?

The task is simple: Snap a picture that somehow conveys "chaos" - whether it's a picture of a messy room, a traffic jam, something broken or an abstract painting with crazy colours. Along with your picture, you have to write a short description in which the chaotic element within your picture is explained. You have very free rein:  you can both make a collage of multiple pictures, edit, put text on your picture - pretty much everything you can come up with!

Rules:
- You have to take the picture yourself!
- Your picture has to be relevant to the theme
- Post both the description and the picture together, and make sure you don't edit your post
- If you quote other people's posts, make sure you delete their entry from the quote in case they change it
- Although you are allowed to make collages, edit etc. - you are not allowed to make gifs!

Here's my own example - I'm by no means good with photography or editing, so anyone should be able to participate!

Description: Earth is unpredictable, lawless and wonderful. I was out at one of my favorite spots when I took this picture of the lake and clouds - I distorted it to portray how chaotic nature can be .. I mean - we've got all sorts of crazy birds and volcanoes and whatnot!!, yet so many undiscovered things; a beautiful mystery.

Winners:
The number of winners will depend on the amount of participants

Females will receive this absolutely stunning set by Rabbitblue & males will recieve this killer set by Freckle!

Deadline:
The deadline is the 3rd of September, 23:59 BST
You can check the current BST time here

How short/ long does the description have to be?
- I haven't set a word limit; as long as it's not a wall of text nor just the word "chaos" you'll be alright. If your description is either too long or lacking you will be notified.

Does the picture have to have clear correlation to "punk"?
- No, not at all - the focus this time is is on "chaos", an element of punk; you are free to interpret that in any way you want!

Does the edit of my picture (if I make one) have to meet any expectations/ criteria?
- You can play around with your picture in any way you'd like! The edit doesn't necessarily have to carry much thought or correlation to the theme/ chaotic element. The picture just has to convey chaos - it doesn't matter if it's through editing or the picture itself.

If my boyfriend takes a picture of me, does that count?
- Sorry but no, it has to be your own picture/ you have to take it yourself

If you have any questions in regards to the event, make sure you ask! I will respond and update this section with answers as quickly as possible.

Does the edit (if i make one) have to be related to the photograph and would it count as caos all in all. Or is it just for fun if i edit it?

You can play around with your picture in any way you'd like! The edit doesn't necessarily have to carry much thought or correlation to the theme/ chaotic element. It's totally up to you to decide. As long as the picture conveys chaos in some way - it doesn't matter if it's through edititing or the picture itself.
