I have been trying to get him to see a therapist for his stress and depression for months and even had other people weigh in with how it's not as bad as he thinks. He thinks it's embarrassing, which it is not.
I think his mental health is a much more likely reason for why hes being like that. Maybe quitting snus isnt a great idea rn.

but there's never a right time for quitting, i just feel like it's something that needs to be done.

Quitting snus is also perfectly doable without professional help, its not like its heroin or something. I think youre being too kind to him. Maybe its better to just leave him alone to figure it out if he cant behave himself.

And i also dont think snus is supposed to make people act like assholes, like i mean chances are he just kind of is an asshole.
If snus act kinda like normal tobacco then it can make people angry thought, but this bad and before he quit, yea it sounds excessive

after i left him alone in the living room he started gaming and talking w his friend and he seems much better. Very distant tho, but it's better than him being the other way.

quitting nicotine is really hard. i read that it's normal to emotionally regress to the age you were when you started. when i quit smoking i felt like i was sixteen again emotionally. i absolutely threw a few tantrums during the first few days. i'm really grateful that my boyfriend supported me during that time. but supporting me didn't mean tolerating that bad behavior- it meant being patient and firm with his boundaries.

if he's being violent you need to remove yourself from that situation. if he's throwing stuff- you might go stay somewhere else for a few days  or make him leave the house when he has his tantrums. the first two weeks should be enough for that level of immaturity to pass.

part of the issue with quitting nicotine is you lose control over your emotions. like you use nicotine to regulate your emotions. so when the nicotine is gone you have to learn how to regulate your emotions without it. and that's a difficult process.

i used the reddit /r/stopsmoking as a support group while i quit and i reccomend that to everyone. it's a great space online for support quitting nicotine.

^^^^^ this is true as hell there's never a good time to quit. the best time to quit is now. the longer you do it the harder it is to quit.

like honest if he's throwing shit - as a woman you are in danger and you need to remove yourself from that situation.

snus has shit ton of nicotine in it and it’s sooo addicting and very hard to let go of. I really hope he can do it! The situation absolutely sucks for you. If you really are in danger (even a little) like if he’s throwing stuff at you, could you maybe go away for couple of days? Like stay at your friends’ or family’s places?

Anyway i wish the best for both of you.
