when speaking of my individual tarantulas my favorites are by their nature A. geniculata, P. Metallica, B. smithi and my other P. murinus which l named as a fevered child. Yeah, A. geniculata  is bit a fevered child too and B. smithi even tho the species itself is quite docile but then again there are the individual differences within a species.

If speaking by the looks then my T. blondi, P. rufilata and P. subfusca "lowland" are my favorites.

A. geniculata

P. subfusca lowland

l have a theory
because my favorite genus is Poecilotheria l must subconsciously hate myself because why would l then grant myself such beautiful tarantulas but yet teleporting fast, skittish with potent venom

Actually the amount l have now is not made my place tight because they are in the same room as my snakes.  If l had to get more now it would get uncomfortable and way too crammed up which lm not doing. Tho, if l have to move again to a smaller place with only a bedroom being the additional room, my pets would go there and l would sleep in my living room or living/kitchen.

What comes to the collection is only the beginning and l prefer getting my ts as slings rather than adults because l know what they have been fed on, the age, less expensive, and l like watching them grow. Although, l checked the last molt of my P. metallica and it seems like it will eventually mature out as male. l bit of anticipated it due to its fast-growing pace.  Bit a shame but then again l have been really lucky with my ts being females. For instance my G. pulchra and all the adults.

You can pretty much get all the colors of the rainbow with tarantulas and more. The yellow one aka Orange baboon tarantula that some call Orange bitey thing has the fame of being "crazy". Tbh, l don't think they are that bad as people make them do and l honestly think they are just not being cautious with the tarantulas and provoking them.

Anyway, my other P. murinus is a bit of living up to that fame but not really. It is very skittish and sometimes when spooked it runs loops around the walls of the enclosure but it is not really crazy. What comes to my other P. murinus probably one of the most chill and calm tarantula l own atm.  l think my B. smithi and my calm P. murinus have switched bodies because they sure act out each other specimen.

So it's basically just more reserved and not up being picked up all the time and such?

The blue one sounds like it is being a silly bun, haha!

l wouldn't recommend handling tarantulas and if l need to pick up a tarantula it goes to a plastic box with a lid on it.  It is just my individuals, l still think OBT are somewhat what their fame is made them to be but l also think that is you are cautious with your tarantulas you can cut down that said behavior. l don't handle my ts at all and they just are chilling in their enclosures.

Scientific names sure are fun l mean there is a lot of names that are puns like Gelae bean which is a type of a round fungus beetle. Names are also taken influence of the popular culture of religion, for example, all the insects or arachnids beginning with the name "Goliath" which is a reference to a Philistine giant in the biblical book of Samuel. Tinkerbella nana is a fairy wasp, there is a lot of them.
