Yes God is real, but faith is a choice and shouldn’t be conditional

Alsoo bad things happen to good people because that’s how free will works

I'm not trying to cause an argument here, but why should it not be conditional?

@Focalin Thank you for the support xx
Well you’re supposed to believe and have faith even when suffering, which is hard...

@Juniper  Same question to you - if God truly did exist and you were good by his rules; why would bad things happen to good people?
Because of free will

But why? My friend has been nothing but a good person. Why should herself and her family/friends suffer?

I'm agnostic, but raised catholic, so I always try and reason myself with 'xxx'. But I know Francine. And none of this makes sense.
Free Will - ok - so what did she do wrong?? Because it was nothing, I can attest to that personally.

I think it's not about doing something right or wrong.

She didn’t do anything, but because everyone can make choices, bad things have to happen and it can be to anyone. Someone decided to leave their house and it stormed and a tree hit their car so they died... that person did nothing wrong, but if God had made her not go that day or had made it so the tree didn’t move or it didn’t storm, free will wouldn’t be there anymore... if God made sure everyone never got hurt, and no bad people existed, no natural disasters affected people, then there would be no free will, no suffering, no happiness, and the world would be both better and worse

sorry I’m so ineloquent haha

also I don’t want to force anything on u

don't apologise for being ineloquent. This actually put some things into perspective (re: God etc).
i'm still not sure whether I believe or not (because this seems real harsh, regardless of free will).
But I understand the point you're making, if God does exist then I'm sure there must be a bigger plan at hand.
On the other hand (not to offend), maybe the cancer that my friend contracted was always going to happen, and this is the best situational outcome that could of happened.

It sucks to think about it too, but ovarian cancer is typically genetic if not caused by older age.

If it is neither, then your response is the same?

cancer is very painful, and I hate that she has to go through it.  I know it’s annoying when people say try to be positive, especially with cancer bc theres basically no bright side, but for your friend I’m glad she’s surrounded by people who love her.. I hope you have people you can talk to, but if you want the safety of the screen when things get even harder my pms are always open

It's based on science, it's usually genetic or there can be underlying causes related to hormones.
