The only time I don't click a TW thread is if it's about certain creatures...
Like horror movie creatures?
If it's difficult to discuss
I understand
Nah, the kind of creatures that make webs... Also insects, but the other ones are much worse.
Oh gotcha... I feel prickly while watching anything related to insects

Yeah, for me it's like a bad accident
You might not want to, but something compels you to look
yea generally i feel that with trigger warnings   also kinda like 'lets see how bad this is'
bbut not w gore bc i know it'll shake me up, ngl im quite thankful for those kinda warnings, i feel like thats also  such a common thing to be sensitive to tho i dont think they're unnecessary warnings hahah, unless its somewhere where you can expect those pictures anyway
Even before choosing my profession, I've never been bothered by gore
I guess I have a morbid curiosity about something that none of us can avoid

i wish i wasn't squeamish because i do have the curiosity and I enjoy it in art, but in real life it leaves me kinda imagining the pain if it's bad
and also only really when it's on humans

i don't click if i know it would upset me
i click if i'm in a stable state of mind and think i could offer help or peer support, or the thread could offer those things to me

funnily enough I don't click on threads that have a TW warning that doesn't trigger me, I kind of feel like I'm protecting my brain by not exposing itself to all that stuff?

This specific TW actually does trigger me and I'm too curious not to click on it

Guess I'm doing the exact opposite of what I should do

the whole point of trigger warnings is that they give you a heads up and a choice in whether you want to see something or not, not that you can't ever look at those things. it's very different coming into a thread knowing that it has sensitive content, & having mentally prepared for that, than it is to be exposed to it out of the blue... kind of like if someone asked if you wanted to hold a tarantula, and you could choose to do so or not. VS a tarantula falling on top of you unexpectedly.

To me trigger warnings are like viewer discretion warnings. People have a right to have a heads up about content so they can decide for themselves if they want to avoid it.

Interestingly enough the concept of trigger warnings comes from rape/domestic violence centers. I do think the term "triggered" is overused but it has a time and a place.

Also I was just.... boggled incest and racism was brought up at once. That's amazing.
